    DD hitting VS offline
  • M msimotes23

Combination of internet lag and I think online pitch speed may be tuned slightly higher? But mainly internet lag. No different than in NBA 2K, playing offline the response to everything is much quicker, shooting passing all that. Where online there is a small delay to all the inputs you make.

Same w/ the show. Madden is really the only game where lag is not that noticeable from online and offline.

Your sentence shifts tense so many times that I can’t possibly follow. Did this actually happen or are you speculating?

I don’t see them doing this. The exchange process is important for taking cards out of circulation and keeping the market stable.

It is sarcasm on a forum for a video game, sorry I did not follow every rule of grammar.

You don’t have to follow any rules as long as you’re able to convey your thoughts clearly.

What's your email, I'd like to run further posts by you to make sure you can comprehend them fully.

Anyone else super excited when SDS gets rid of rival exchanges for Stage 2 of Team Affinity so everyone who loaded up on cards to exchange (myself included) lose their a$$?

I made a thread about this a few days ago and I think a huge reason for this is the lowered pitcher energy which, among other things, makes it harder to hit corners and therefore it's much easier to hit

    That’s a solid point too.

I'll agree that it should be easier to hit since they are tired, but my results didn't feel much different.

I am talking strictly timing on pitches. It just felt way easier to be on time or even early on fastballs/sinkers. Who knows, maybe the guys i played in the events really did stink and I am over thinking it. But it just felt way more difficult to catch up to heat in RS than events.

I think they problem comes down to sample size here. In event games, if you’re a player that’s contesting for WS, you’re gonna be the far better player at least 4 out of 5 games. Those games will feel great since you’re gonna crush the guy. That 5th game, eh it’s only 3 innings. “anything can happen in a 3 inning game”

Then in RS, you’re playing someone at your skill level (even though you probably want to think he’s not) and you get 9 uninterrupted innings of tough baseball.

When you’re talking about how the game plays, or if you’re “right on” everything, don’t forget to factor in your opponents’ skill levels. You may not realize it, but if your timing is off on a lot of pitches, it might simply mean... wait for it... they’re actually good at pitching.

    Queue the pitchforks...

The quality of player has nothing to do with the timing of hitting. A fastball is a fastball and so on, I get better players sequence pitches better and locate and all that, but it still does not change how much different timing felt hitting in ranked seasons on Hall of Fame compared to the event on hall of fame.

The quality of the player has everything to do with it, that’s the thing.

Nah, not when the hitting just feels lagged/different on ranked seasons. And how do you know the people I played in events weren't high ranked in ranked seasons too?

Just saying it is because of better players that's why it feels so different is lazy. I get what you're saying, but it is not like I am the only one saying the event and ranked seasons feels way different hitting wise.

Absolutely, over an 800 in RS, but hadn't played in a bit. Played 5 event games and felt like I was right on everything for the most part timing wise. Hopped in a RS game on Hall of Fame and felt way off timing wise. Completely different feel for hitting.

Yes they did. This patch or last patch and look at other threads. There are more complaints than mine

    Last patch. Patch 1.04.

Wasn’t last patch just an adjustment to the pitch speed slider? That’s how I interpreted it and that’s not a DD change.

That would essentially make fastballs seem faster though if the speed ratio is greater.

“Pitch speed slider has more range” doesn’t sound like a universal change to me. That sounds like they added the option for those who play offline to make pitch speeds more realistic if they desire to.

    you could be right.

Lol I have the last 2 years to compare it too and it was fun then. But it is not enjoyable now at all. If they want my money and others like me they are gonna have to fix it.

No you just need to get better and stop hoping they cater the game to your lack of skill.

  • Fastballs are too quick.
  • M msimotes23

If you never played the show prior to 18 and 19 then you have nothing to compare it to. The last two years were a joke pitch speed wise. Everybody could pick up a controller and not be late on a fastball but still wait on off speed. Pitch speeds are completely fine, if you can't catch up to a fastball it is a skill issue.

  • Pathetic Defense.
  • M msimotes23

Carlos Gonzalez, his hitting missions are pretty easy.

  • What they should have done with hitting...
  • M msimotes23

Shrinking the PCI is completely fine. Adjusting pitch speeds and making the fastball/off-speed ratio bigger is good too. But they should not have adjusted the feedback/difficulty.

It was a homer fest but I thought early on the feedback was right on. I still think it is not bad, I think a lot of people see good timing and think they should be properly rewarded, when sometimes good timing is really just late or just early, but their timing system isn't precise enough.

I do think pitching accuracy could've been increased instead of making hitting worse. That would have been one way to make it not a slugfest, without screwing with hitting more than just shrinking the PCI.
