Anybody experiencing a huge drop off in good contact or timing issues in postseason. I had zero issues all season, got 112 wins with the mariners on all star difficulty. And am now in alcs scraping by getting maybe 1-2 hits per game. Every ball off the bat no matter the location or swing timing is like a soft shallow fly ball or a weak ground ball. I got a 95+ fastball middle plate, belt high to Eugenio Suarez and it was almost perfect timing, pop out to shallow left center. Wondering if it’s just me because this is uncanny how weak these bats got out of the blue. I’ve even dropped difficulty to veteran for a game and noticed no difference in contact. Timing for off-speed pitches seems there is no “good” swing timing even though when I look at replays my barrel is almost parallel with the front edge of the plate when I make contact.

It could be just a small sample size or it could be that you’re going against higher rates pitchers. Most moments in MTO are late in the game against relievers (usually non closers). So, you’re contact is worse because of the other pitchers ratings.
Also, I hope you know you can’t go back up in MTO. So, you have to finish and get veteran rewards.

My settings are pretty much the same as if O was on my Xbox. I normally play on Vet offline but will dabble in all star. Full disclosure it took me a good few hours to get hitting down but now I'm in a pretty good grove.

Okay. Thanks. I could usually get by in hall of fame and cruise on all star. But, all star has been hard. I’ll just drop down to vet and see how it goes. I’m really just trying to relax and play instead of taking it so seriously this year. So, maybe that’s a good thing. It just messes with my ego I guess. Ha.

So much for that 7-0 lead.
I can’t imagine what the atmosphere is like in that stadium tonight.
Every year I keep track of my MTOs here for my own personal records, but also in case others are interested. This is probably my favorite mode of this game. So, I always start the year by winning the World Series with the dodgers. I’m playing exclusively on switch and there has definitely been a learning curve, but anyway, if anyone is interest here you go.
Overall I started on all star, but really struggled adjusting to the switch. On ps4 in the past I would cruise through all star and had to work on HOF. Once I switched to veteran, it was too easy and I would just try to finish as all games as fast as possible. If I had started on veteran I might have been able to shave 30-44 minutes off the total.
I did not make any trades and did not call any players up. I was just trying to finish quickly.
I had 3 hitter player locks and 2 pitcher player locks trying to complete a perfect game. About half of the events I was placed involved playing 2 or more full innings.
In the playoffs I had a one run lead 3 times, a one run deficit twice, and the remainders were tied. 3 games started in the 7th, and the remainder started in the 6th.
My team record was 130-32. 6 players had 30 or more home runs. And 4 pitchers had 20+ wins. It was a very good year. A summary is below:
Dodgers on Veteran Overall Total Time: 540 minutes (9 hours) Total XP (including from in game): approximately 100k Regular season events win-loss: 24-3 Postseason win-loss: 11-1
First Half Total Time: 234 minutes (4 hours) XP awarded at gate: 14k max Events win-loss: 14-2
Second Half Total Time: 113 minutes (2 hours) XP awarded at gate: 14k max Events win-loss: 10-1
Postseason Total Time: 193 minutes (3 hours) XP Awarded total: 50,500 Win-Loss: 11-1
Royals I did dynamic difficulty. I had never done that before. It took a while to get my ranking up, because it started at beginner. I ended the World Series at all star hitting and legend pitching.
The only trade was for Liam Hendricks. And I didn’t call anyone up from AAA.
I had 3 hitter player locks and 3 pitcher player locks trying to complete a no hitter. About half of the events I was placed involved playing 2 or more full innings.
In the playoffs I had a one run lead 5 times, a one run deficit 4 times, 1 game up 2, 1 game down 2, and the remainders were tied. 3 games started in the 7th, game 5 of the alds started in the fifth, and the remainder started in the 6th.
My team record was 120-42.
Royals on dynamic Overall Total Time: 602 minutes (10 hours) Total XP (including from in game): approximately 91k Regular season events win-loss: 26-2 Postseason win-loss: 11-4
First Half Total Time: 170 minutes (3 hours) XP awarded at gate: 10k max Events win-loss: 15-2
Second Half Total Time: 103 minutes (2 hours) XP awarded at gate: 10k max Events win-loss: 11-0
Postseason Total Time: 329 minutes (5.5 hours) XP Awarded total: 31k Win-Loss: 11-1
I had never tried dynamic difficulty before, so I did a royals run with it on. It started on beginner and, because you have such limited gameplay, it took a while to build it up. So, I ended the year averaging veteran.
I ended the World Series with legend pitching, all star hitting, and HOF overall.
I get that it takes an average to figure out your gate xp earnings. But, it was annoying that it did it for all of the playoffs.
I did the entire playoffs with HOF as the “current difficulty,” but when I won the different series I only got rewarded at Veteran in the ds and cs, and vet/as in the World Series.
What do this group think? Should the playoff rounds be “scored” individually or just it average the entire year?

What roster does MTO use this year? Is it the default roster or the updated weekly roster? I'd like to start MTO but I want to use the most up to date rosters once they're released by SDS. Also, did they fix it where you can upload any rosters or pick rosters?

The roster stays fixed. I think the idea is that you are starting with the team that actually started the season. If I remember correctly, they might update it one more time in a week or so to get players that maybe hasn’t been in the game yet. But, I’m not 100 percent on that.
@junkyard-dog_mlbts said in can you go multiple season this year:
can you go multiple season they was say on the Stream that you could
I haven’t done it yet, but I believe you can do multiple seasons. I think I tread that the second season and beyond won’t give you the bulk xp at the gates.
Braves almost blew a 7-0 lead too. Held on 7-6
As a dodger fan I love kenley Jansen and I hope he does great. But, there were times in the last couple years that were hard to watch. Today, he almost blew a 4 run lead.
I get a feeling Kimberly might be the same, but Jansen was our guy and I just so badly didn’t want to see him fail.

I signed back on DD online today and noticed the my XP amount did not change to reflect the XP from the games I played while offline. I then tried a moment in DD on the switch and I received the base XP for completing the moment but not the gameplay XP. Is this an issue for anyone else? I do also have my account linked to Xbox which is my primary account. Thanks all! In finishing up an MTO season the other day it seemed xp was “delayed.” I wouldn’t get the xp for winning the ds until after I played a another cs game. This happened similarly in other places as well. It did seem to show up eventually, but I did have internet connection. So, maybe that’s an issue. Ok, I thought of that too. When you said “ds” did you mean Diamond dynasty game?

No. Sorry. The nl division series. I think I was supposed to get 10k for winning it, but it didn’t show up right away. It did show up after I played game 1 of the championship series.
Did you quit out of games, dashboard, or get disconnected? You don’t get xp if the game thinks you’re quitting games you might lose.
If not this, you can try putting in a ticket. But, my guess is it won’t go through.
