Nope, that's new this year. Thanks to SDS's forced integration with RttS into DD

Coming from a long time player you could often brag on SDS compared to 2K and EA for how they handled DD compared to the respective UT modes from other sports games. This year feels like an extreme step backwards.

Removing the XP track is a shot across the bow for long term reward grind. This shows SDS seems to be more focused on 2K's seasonal model, which is further supported by...

Removing the ability to make progress on programs and removing conquest maps at the end of an Inning is a major step back, and speaks to plans to limit the amount of free content available. SDS seems to be relying on increasing FOMO as a way to increase player engagement and microtransaction purchases
-
Reduction of daily mission XP is another issue. Previously daily missions provided program stars. With the switch to XP, the % toward the inning progress has dropped significantly (Daily Missions used to provide roughly 0.66% toward reaching the boss packs, now they provide around 0.05%)
-
Removal of after game drops will push more pack sales and microtransaction purchases.
I just don't understand the reasoning behind several of these changes. SDS has moved forward with making the game more casual friendly in some aspects (such as the easier ability to get BR and WS rewards), but has carved out so much in the opposite direction that it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth for the game. This used to be the game I bragged on for being "different" than other Ultimate Team modes. I fear that may no longer be the case.

@Victor_SDS_PSN or @Collin_SDS_PSN Can either of you guys confirm this is a known issue?

The problem is stars weren't worth 100 XP equivalent. One 3 inning conquest game usually generated about 1 star. This year that generates about 1500-2000xp
Put it in statistical determination. Last year most daily missions got you around 2 stars. 2 stars puts you 0.66% toward the bosses
This year most daily missions give you 200 XP. 200 XP puts you 0.05% toward the bosses

Yes. But instead if calculating using 350,000; what does it give you using 300,000? It gives you 0.05%.
So, it still the same. It just takes more playing to get them.
You are terrible at math. This year the dailies are literally worth 1/10th toward reaching the bosses than they were last year. 0.66% compared to 0.05% They are worth so little that they aren't worth actively pursuing.

Thats a huge L if true Gomes said on his video that your limited to 20k i hope hes wrong that means you wont be able to grind the bosses quickly to sell them this year if thats the case and need to play everyday to get them.
It was 35k just to collect Eric Davis.
How do you get 35k to collect Davis? I got him finished and never received it. It doesn't say it anywhere either.
Did you beat the Orioles on All Star in play vs CPU?
I should clarify... I received the Davis card just not the XP. I would love 35k haha
When the servers are up, go to the First Inning Program, go to collections, and there should be two entries.
First is to collect 8 42 series players for 50k XP. Second is to collect Davis for 35k XP

There...really aren't many benefits.
A long time ago you used to be able to search for teams in Extra Innings, and complete missions in Extra Innings. This was valuable, as there was a user team of someone who created a team of nothing but catchers playing out of position, called the Yetis, and every mission was super easy to complete (fielding errors galore, terrible pitchers to take yard, etc)
So SDS removed the ability to do missions in Extra Innings.
This year they swapped it around. You can do missions again, but can't search for teams. So instead you just get matched up with a random smattering of ranked teams.

35,000 for completion of the showdown.
Last year the equivalent XP would have put it at just over 81,000 XP. (70 stars out of 300 needed for the boss packs)
Big drop. Constant cuts in ways to earn XP + servers that don't let you earn in game XP + a program that expires in less than two weeks = a massive shift in direction for SDS

Anyone had any luck getting completed player moments that aren't registering to actually register?
Finished the Orioles challenge and all of the moments for the Eric Davis program. One of the moments is marked as complete in the Single Player Modes > Moments > Player Program menu, but isn't showing as complete in the Program > Player Programs menu, so I'm 7 points short.
Tried recompleting it from both the moments menu, and the player program menu, but no dice.
I put in a ticket, but was wondering if anyone has had any luck in getting this to register later. Really would like my 1st Inning Program XP since they confirmed that the program disappears after the 7th

It's related to the adjustments they are receiving thanks to the Inside Edge system. You can go to Home > Inside Edge & Roster Updates to see the full list of adjustments for today
