At this point was 22 better than 23?
  • Loneblackman_MLBTSL Loneblackman_MLBTS

I feel like 23 is a major improvement over 22. Better hitting feedback, dynamic throw meter, way more card content. Addition of negro leagues was great. Plenty to complain about, but simply compared to 22 its a big upgrade. I think people forget what a wreck 22 was. 22 is the worst edition ever imo. Seems like I'm in minority here, no pun intended.

Yeah payscale=budget. Budgets can be expanded if sales are good. If they're selling a bunch of packs and cards, then more money for more players

Yeah I actually have Donaldson in my rotation, but I NEVER bring him out of the pen. It's literally made playing competitively just awful. I'm glad they're working on it at least. I actually have faith in SDS to fix this

  • Goodbye Ranked
  • Loneblackman_MLBTSL Loneblackman_MLBTS

Just played another are opener- John Donaldson ranked game. So fun. I'm done with Ranked until its fixed. So lame that so many high level players rely on a glitch. Sad because I feel this is some of the best gameplay we've had

I play online rated just to eff around. DD competition is so much tougher. Just play online rated with quick counts to turn your brain off and chillax. I do wish there were true hierarchical system of ratings for online games with regular teams, no juiced cards. I really do enjoy playing the regular squads not the juiced up 125 contact 125 power God squads

I love hitting against Mariano. I was getting destroyed by a guy throwing Randy earlier today. Was no hitting me through 7 and for some reason brought in Mariano. Ended up cracking Mariano twice for a 2-1 win. Mariano has always been a lackluster closer, you have to really watch your pitch mix to be effective. His cutter is super readable, so I use it down and in or away coupled with a sinker early, then his changeup always throws people off.

And when did Mariano get a 5 pitch mix??? =)~

@BJDUBBYAH_PSN said in God Squads, Strike Zone and Hitting:

You don’t have spend a dime to get a “better” squad, just gotta finish the programs, and collections.

You're absolutey right, but the time sink is tremendous. And that's OK, but I guess I need to stop playing ranked and simply focus on programs for a while. I actually like the game, but it feels way tougher higher up this year

  • I have never been worse at this game than right now.
  • Loneblackman_MLBTSL Loneblackman_MLBTS

It gets harder as you grind up. Teams get stacked and it gets hard to get outs. I usually just step away for a bit when I start getting stomped. That's actually one of the things that keeps me coming back. Sometimes I can jst feel lost at the plate and get like 3 hits. Other times I'll run rule a guy. Busting slumps is part of baseball 😃

  • Opinions please

Playing toxic people is just the norm today. I think for every one toxic person I encounter, I play 4-5 that are playing with good intentions. I've had a number of games where guys message "gg" right after. Sure, it's annoying when you get the replay champ or bunt dancer. I actually hate the constant stealer most, as they frequnetly trigger fielding glithces. But I think the vast majority of persons as respectable players just looking for a good game

I really have liked this years game, but I really have had a hard time grinding the DD ladder to WS. I don't spend money on stubs, I just don't like to burn the money. But it seems like so many people have just absurdly stacked teams. As I climb it becomes nearly impossible to get them out.

That leads to next point. The strike zone. With the advent of next gen systems, people are seeing the ball better than ever. It's much harder to fool people, so you have to rely on dotting. But the strike zone feels much smaller, and when i paint corners often I'm not rewarded. I've had a number of AB's that carried on simply because the CPU said "Nah, not a strike". It's funny when the announcers are like "How do you take that!?".

So with facing so many stacked teams and not being able to effectively rely on good pitching, I'm at a bit of a loss. I'm sure I can make WS, but this year will be much more of a grind up than years past. Facing three teams in a day that have Randy, Babe and Mickey 99's is just rough!
