Thank you for your response, I will be looking into that. I'm fairly sure I selected non-dynamic, but I will recheck that. Anything to make this more enjoyable than where it is at the moment for me is what I'm all about, lol.

One of the things I've noticed is that the CPU defenders are a lot faster than their ratings suggest, also they have the ability to throw off the back foot at rocket speeds across the diamond, not to mention getting to the outfield ball very fast. Almost half the time a ball goes to either SS or 3B and even with the slower CPU players it's like a 50/50 chance getting that out, while the CPU can do amazing plays and the odds of me getting on base are null if I hit it anywhere near there.
CPU offensively, I've also noticed the CPU will pick up tremendous speed 3/4 of the way onto the bag, regardless of the speed rating. The CPU is a lot faster on the base paths.
With the already difficult timing window coupled with an amazing CPU defense, it's very punishing and takes a lot of enjoyment away for me. I don't expect you will change this (I should have learned my lesson from previous years), due to No Gameplay Changes during the last couple years. It's like you guys double-downed on the notion that everything is just as it should be. Im just hoping that someone @ SDS will take this in consideration for a gameplay change at some point.

IMO, "to be fair" is those who absolve them and whitewash over it with excuses. But, that's just me.

Not that anyone would care, but I'm an offline player only. I played a lot (in my opinion) and I still didn't earn enough for the first boss pack. I am tired of fighting with this game daily. I love baseball and I love TheShow presentation, but everything else is horrid (offline xp, seasons, stellar cpu fielding, well placed hits for outs, bad placed hits for base hits, I could go on and on. The final nail is when they double down on "No gameplay changes at this time", just screams arrogance and a lack of care. I choose to opt out of S2, will see if I get the baseball bug to purchase next year... but, I kinda doubt I will.

1000% this, I've noticed the difference for quite a while now. I get more frustrated playing conquest and mini-seasons than ever before. The ratio to frustrating and having fun is really out of whack imo. That's why im playing a lot less this year (not even close to the first boss pack), and at this point I feel that this will be my last purchase of The Show. I'm slowly cutting this game out of my time spent than usual.

@TripleH-4481 said in The REAL state of this game:
The tribalism on these forums is ridiculous. Anytime anyone brings up a valid negative point on the game the same 5 guys or so come to SDS’s defense. If you don’t like what they have to say then ignore it or move on. You don’t need to jump in like the avengers to save the day for SDS.
That is the most "real" post I've read this year so far, it is getting nauseating seeing those fanboys. Can't even point out a real issue without someone chiming in with "git good", "you don't know real baseball", "SDS is so awesome", etc., etc.

Exact thing just happened to me, end of second inning in Conquest. Freeze.
Update: The out runner was stuck @ home, had to advance the runner (he ran the third base path), but then it unfroze. -
I was on the fence about this years version, love baseball so I got excited and did an impulse purchase. Im strictly an offline player, will not be back. I have given up hope they will make good changes for offline, they want the online whales. IMO, the categories of difficulty (rookie/vet/as) just dont work properly. Presentation is 10/10, but to me gameplay (offline) is a 2/10.

Me vs CPU rookie mode, CPU pitcher 23 pitches thrown, 1 pitch was in the strikezone.. this is crazy. I find myself striking out just to get some action. I understand that player vs player might feel good at hitting, but being an offline player, it's a horrible experience.

Conquest used to be my favorite part of this game, not so much anymore. It has become like a chore for me. Deadball after deadball, getting dotted up, cpu defensive magicians, frustrating experience imo. I could only hope they could come out with a real rookie mode, cut even more xp out idc, but please make it fun like it used to be. Game is becoming like path of exile with the difficulty. Yes, you guessed it.. im not very good, but I still love this game, go figure...

Every year someone brings this up, and every year I think they are representatives. I dunno...

I agree with most of your review, especially the frequency of perfect/perfect outs. If you haven't started The Negro League content yet, I'd chance that you'd change your review to a A++
