    RTTS List of Grievances
  • J jmadds1991_PSN

As someone who was so excited for the Show 21 and who preordered it about a month in advance I am extremely disappointed with the several issues in RTTS. The main thing boils down to a handful of significant problems that have made RTTS almost unplayable until there is an update to fix them.

First, the requirement that you have to be online in order for the reward system to actually track your player's progress means that I don't even bother trying anymore if I have connection issues. The fact that servers cut out randomly/in the middle of games further compounds this problem, to the point that it's essentially playing Russian roulette if you hope to progress your player at all. The fact that RTTS requires an online connection is inexcusable, especially considering that the servers routinely are offline and shut down with no rhyme or reason.

Second, the first issue wouldn't be so problemetic if SDS hadn't switched to this archetype system. There are several issues within the archetypes themselves and how they interact with DD. For example, I was having issues for approximately a week figuring out how I could pitch with my created player in DD because I was "required to have 8 relief pitchers" even though I tried the two-way player. It took me several google searches over the course of a week or so to figure out how to allow your two-way player to pitch in DD. I understand trying to make the same player fluid between both game-sets, but the reward system for the archetypes skews drastically in favor of DD.

    1. The fact that you can only create one player is annoying. I know they are working on it, but it is worth being listed.

    2. The fact that you cannot apparently teach a pitcher a 4th or 5th pitch. This is pretty self-explanatory, however, the fact that this was overlooked is downright infuriating, especially considering previous versions of RTTS incorporated methods to learn more than 3 pitches.

    3. Not allowing the knuckleball to be a pitch choice. I haven't played online so I don't know the issues there (apparently there are problems with the knuckleball and lag) but I would at least like the option for my created player.

I'm sure there are several more that escape me at the moment, but I'm curious what other people's experiences/grievances are. And yes, I did make an account specifically to vent to SDS about a product that I am utterly disappointed in.
