Update. This is no longer an issue. I just saved my game, exited, then reloaded.

@Precisionist99_XBL Let me tell you what my new strategy is that I tried last night for several games. First pitch im looking fastball down the middle and if I get it, I swing for power (square on PS5). It's a home run most of the time. If I don't get it, I take. If that pitch I took was a ball, then I automatically take the second pitch no matter what. I'm getting to 2-0 a lot more often than getting to 0-2. Need more time to test if it gets me more walks, but it is getting me into more hitters counts, which I like.

Anybody have an issue with perks not activating in RTTS? I unlocked a new hitting perk and after doing so none of my perks activate ever. Hitting, fielding, base running, nothing. Can't remember what the perk i unlocked was, something to do with drag bunting. I never bunt. I don't even know what button to press to bunt.

@Papaboon_MLBTS I play as a shortstop, not outfield so it might be different, but I played three seasons and never had a popfly hit to me. Only grounders. There is a setting for defense that controls this. I changed from "Impact" to "my plays" and now I see even more grounders and some pop flies. It helps get more XP. There is a third setting for All where you get even more plays but the sim takes much longer. Try that setting.

@Precisionist99_XBL Thank you, I'm going to try this. One thing I started trying when I played the game last night was use the batter's leg kick to start timing things up. As soon as he moves his front leg, I start moving the left stick. It is helping me time things slightly better but it is not helping me avoid swinging at LITERALLY EVERY PITCH in the dirt or 8 inches off the plate inside. I don't strike out that much because I have high 81 vision, but it's hard to make hard contact when you're always taking defensive swings at bad pitches because you're 0-2 or 1-2 in almost every AB.

@dap1234567890_PSN Uhg it would suck to go backwards. I think switching to timing only would be kinda like a guy in his third MLB season getting demoted to AAA. Ya know? Kind of an emotional hit

I never played The Show before but I somehow advanced to the Majors with my 75 OVR SS by hitting about .265 with 19 home runs in AAA. Then I watched a YouTube video on improving hitting. I had no idea what the PCI was. I never moved the left stick and somehow still hit OK in college, AA, and AAA. Now that I know how to do it, it ruined my hitting. I had to lower the difficulty to Rookie and I can't manage to hit over .215. I can't stop myself from swinging at every low ball, especially off-speed. They all look like strikes. I ground out or make weak contact almost every AB. I never walk. Please help. I don't want to play the game on beginner... That's way too easy.
