It sounds like Sony/SDS simply got played. MLB is never going to take it off of Gamepass and most Gamepass subscribers aren't going to put up with over-the-top, EA-style MTX unless the gameplay vastly improves, and even then there's too many great games on Gamepass to dedicate hundreds of hours into one.

Ultimately, I'd be surprised if SDS is still developing the game in 3-4 years. They're now developing a game that went from a "system seller" to one that is theoretically hurting playstation sales.

One of the hardest hit balls last year was hit right into a double play!! 117 mph exit velocity right to the SS for a routine 6-4-3 DP

I understand what you are saying about realism but like I’ve said before. The point is not if “it happens”. The point is this is a video game

And when one player flails at every pitch. Fouls off anything thrown for 12 pitch at bats. Check swings and strikes out. And the other player works counts and squares up balls... the rewarded player is the player that isnt making the better inputs. That’s just the reality. You can talk realism until you are blue in the face but until players follow that realism with their gameplay it’s not about realism...it’s about the player with the BETTER OVERALL INPUTS — should be the player with more success.

It’s like I’ve seen ppl have no idea what they are looking at get mistakes in the middle and crush the ball. That’s not a big deal...it’s a run it happens. What makes it annoying is the 15 lineouts before and after that.

Drop the “thats baseball” nonsense. It’s not baseball to flail at every pitch you see.

If the worse hitting player out of the two of us just happens to get lucky with their input (perfect input, not the game spoonfeeding them) when there are bases loaded with Trout batting and they are down 3 runs to zero, and that’s the only time in the game they have perfect hitting input, that’s circumstantial. That happens.

Surely you’d be ok with that? It’s not as simple as saying better overall number of inputs should prevail. The nine innings are independent of each other. Nine good inputs all in one inning should probably beat 18 good inputs spread evenly* over 9 innings, even in a video game.

What you are saying about hits on terrible swings - that I agree with. And good inputs being constantly unrewarded, I also agree with to an extent (unless fielding placement is perfect). But baseball is a special video game because you don’t have to be the better overall player to be the victor.

I can’t go so far as to say you are wrong (you are not). But I don’t feel you are completely right.

. * the word evenly added a few hours later for clarification

How would they have bases loaded?

It’s prob because the ps4 and the Xbox can’t handle the feature hardware wise. Not because they are trying to give people less.

Sticking with 20 is a nightmare. The game is garbage gameplay wise.

This feature existed on the PS2...
