Everyone else’s stubs still missing from night one? I’m out over 350k right now

This Event is awful. Got the 60 wins over the two weeks in the last one and have played literally 2 games for Live Series II. Not only removing Diamonds but 6 inning no quick counts? Lmfao cmon now

I am not one to really complain and honestly I do not post or read much here so maybe this topic has been beat to death already. But....

How do we all think this game is okay when hitting feedback is essentially meaningless and pitches will randomly not go where you want them despite perfect pulse/meter/analog?

I truly feel that if you don't hit a good-squared flyball or perfect-perfect flyball, you are better off having bad PCI placement and hoping the ball is hit somewhere vacant. Because anything else gets hit right at people and balls fully in the PCI, especially when the pitch is a Sinker, are registered as Okay contact which is just nutty. And the hanging pitches? To me that feels like some stupid equalizer but who knows

In any event, I've been playing the game less and less lately because of these issues and until they're truly addressed I don't know if I can have as much fun playing MLB The Show as I'd like to which is sad bc this is my first year of DD and I love everything about this game besides the gameplay itself

I hated quick counts but I hate the length of these games even more. If you’re gonna have your main online mode be 9 innings, the one made for shorter games should be 3 innings or 6 innings w/ quick counts so games move quickly. It’s just a lot to play through especially with this event where most every team is gonna be the same, or at least very similar, bc the pool is pretty restrictive yet accessible

It’s a choice of 4 players. I got Trout in the Lv45 one and did not get him at the Lv90 one. You are guaranteed one of the super expensive players tho (Trout, Arenado, Cole, Bellinger) because there’s only 7 high diamonds in total (deGrom, Verlander, Scherzer are the “cheaper” ones)

I used Gagne and he was bad, albeit in very limited action. Have not splurged on Dibble or Britton yet, I have the stubs but I've been playing so much Event that I haven't bothered. Maybe when I start playing more RS I'll go for one of them

I replied to your other thread but I don't think people are considering roster updates right now with the season at best two months away. As others have said these guys are essentially gatekeepers for their sets and they both lead to solid relievers which are difficult to come by this year unless you got a ton of stubs laying around - I mean, look at how Dibble skyrocketed once his HL packs went away

You have to get to Prestige XP path. There’s no way to upgrade him by accruing stats

First at Prestige Lv5 you get a choice of the same five guys but they’re all prestiged. At Prestige Lv95 you get the last one

We won’t be getting a roster update for at least another two months. If you’re worried about potentially losing 7k stubs in a couple months from now versus having arguably the best RP in the game.... it’s a no brainer

Also you get a bunch of stubs and XP for locking the A’s and then the ALW

You do not want this. It is like this in 2K and you're forced to play out tedious, boring, long-decided games way too often when people should just quit but they can't bc it will result in being timed out. You much rather get out of there with your win. If you wanna play a full game, play RS. People won't quit bc they wanna protect their rating.

Not rock solid confident in my bullpen right now. I have Rollie who I 100% trust and Wagner and Chapman who I am pretty confident in. Haven't tried Ottavino yet but going to give him a shot. My other slots are nothing special, though

For those who have used them, is there a clear best between Britton; Franco; Nen; and Gagne? I am assuming it's Britton, but will a third LHP make sense in a bullpen? Or am I better off waiting for another big pen arm to drop since it has been a little bit since they released one

I hate when that happens. Lag seems to have a lot to do with it but it always seems to come when you are down and get a leadoff double.

The overrunning one? Yeah both times it happened to me today was no one on base double. Once it was with two outs, other time was leadoff. I have very few lag issues at all (Ethernet with good speeds) but wouldn’t surprise me at all if it was a lag spike or something at the wrong time

Been playing for over a decade, though not online much until the last few years. 2K has some crazy algorithm BS but aspects of MLB this year feel so fundamentally broken. Not even gonna touch on the frequency of good/good and good/okay that are outs. It is fielding and base running that are just beyond broken at times and ruin my enjoyment

I'll still play the game and on the whole I have a ton of fun. I have never played a more rewarding game in terms of the sheer amount of content you can get just by playing. It is just a shame that what should be the mastered piece in all of this feels so behind everything else

This is just one of many, many issues I've encountered in the last day of playing. Just lost a game now bc my guy didn't stop running at 2nd despite the fact that I had the slide button held down and hadn't pressed L1 in a moment.

This is my first year of DD. I came from 2K. While I cannot praise this game enough for the overall package of game modes, rewarding content, etc. I have never felt more cheated by a broken game in all my years of playing sports games both online and offline.

If you don't like them.... don't use them!

Personally, I love these much more than the old timey cards because I'm a huge prospect nerd. Who cares??

It is a fantasy card mode and these are fantasy cards... go play franchise if you want a more realistic experience

This is a fantasy card mode with fantasy players. Personally, I love getting to use these prospect cards bc I'm a huge prospect nerd and love imagining what these guys could be. If you wanna play with someone from the 1950's, go ahead - that's your choice. No one is forcing you to use these cards lol.

And if your argument back is "these are the best cards so I have to use them!" - no, you don't. If you want to use the best cards, then you'll use the best cards no matter who they are.

This won't be anything like 2K until we get ridiculous positions or something like that. Then you can say it is overboard. This is my first time playing DD and to compare it in any way to MyTeam is a complete insult. DD is miles ahead of MyTeam in every way imaginable.

I love that we are getting more prospects. To each their own - the game is barely a month old, we will get plenty of throwback cards and updated current players
