I'm not a fan of not having more info then we do at this point, no other game coming out would get away with hiding details until the day of launch and still beg for preorders as hard as we see it now. If you want excitement around the game and want to expand to more then just the hardcore fans (which are leaving over the past couple of games very quickly) you gotta be better about giving us reason to be excited WEEKS! if not a month and a half out. Nothing shared as of today matters at all to most of the playerbase sadly.

Thanks streamers: Designing a reward structure that only benefits less than 1% of your customers is a terrible strategy. But hey, at least they won’t have to hear oh chev cry anymore. Oh that’s his name. Yea that guy needs to go outside. I listened to him cry about it for an hour straight one day and was like why am I listening to this dude whine. I mean, life is hard when he gets the card immediately and sells it for 500k, it's just not fair that casual players can earn the card weeks later and sell it for 50k These kids are freaking clowns, can't wait to see how angry he is when every game of a 12-0 BR run is a sweatfest when offline players aren't willing to drop 50k in runs that end in 3 or 4 games and just drop the game. Same with Ranked.

I love terrible takes from the 1%. They act like their WS cards had no value, you guys get the cards day 1 or 2 when they have MAXIMUM value, who cares if by the end of the program they are 40k? (Which is still alot of stubs to many players). Same goes for BR, a bad player having to reset over and over again to get 3 points progress in the line where the WS quality players are sitting on 11-0 runs and getting the BR card immediately when it's value is 500k +
These players want the gatekeeping back, plain and simple. If they can get the game back to BR cards costing offline players 400k+ they don't have to grind anything outside of BR/Ranked to earn stubs cause they'll have a limitless supply of 12-0 cards. Maybe there should be a 3x cap for BR rewards so that the 1% know how the rest of us feel huh?
Less then 90% of the player base has the ability to get to WS and even less to go 12-0, if you just push away all those players who is left in these online modes? SDS should be working to make online play more accessible to players, not less. I thought it wouldn't be til set 3 when most players realize just how many of their favorite cards are going away and have to do another boring grind with [censored] cards to get a new set of the same dudes to use again, but these changes may just forward the massive dropoff in player numbers. As a hardcore offline (sometimes online) player I'm pretty much ready to go after all these greedy changes. Pretending they aren't getting as bad as Madden/2k is dumb, they are doing everything possible to make you have to buy stubs to play the game.

You sure that's a Flash price? I know those are new packs. Well, that is what I am thinking since there is a big green lightning bolt that says "Flash Sale" on top of that pack along with the 35,000 stub price next to it. Oh and that there is a "Time Limited: XXm XXs" clock counting down just below the pack might be a hint as well! Yeah, I jumped on and saw that. Lol I just figured since they were new packs they wouldn't be on sale. So I'm assuming that these were normally 50K; so most will be on sale for 35K. Probably since pretty much every pack this year has been 50K. Inflation is horrible! HEY! It's hard to keep up with the cost....of making fake digital cards....or something absolutely stupid like that. It's better I guess then SDS just saying they want to rip you off financially.

If the only people in events are sweats how exactly can the rest of us compete for these rewards? I've spent the last 2 hours losing every single event game I have tried to play, and honestly it sucks. I do all the normal suggestions "Go into Practice mode hur hur" and play and play, but something between my vision and my age makes events balls feel unhittable. Sorry for the vent, but I really wanted to try this online stuff this year and week 1 I'm ready to never play online again, what is the point when there aren't enough restrictions to decks and no matchmaking so us casual peeps just get crushed Do you think all these players just happened to wake up one day and all of a sudden be really good at this game? Also, before you get defensive; "Sorry for the vent, but I really wanted to try this online stuff this year and week 1 I'm ready to never play online again" You quit after a week. It took me 2 years to get decent at this game. I've played the Show for the last 5 years while playing some online each year, I'm definitely not new to the game but at some point I don't know what more I can do other then not play events, then not be able to complete collections, so what's the point then as a collector? I have issues with my thumbs so I just can't do pinpoint and analog just leaves everything hanging no matter where I try to put it I hear you and that sucks for you, I mean that and not in a snarky way. But my question would be, what is it that you want them to do about that? I guess that's why there is the ability to purchase stubs, but since that's also not an option you said, I don't really know what to tell you? If it's just about the stubs though, you can make a lot of stubs without actually playing this game. That way you can still complete your collections and enjoy the game offline. What you want to do is look for YouTube videos that explain how to flip cards on the market. Long story short, you look for items in the community market that have a significant gap between the buy now and sell now listings, and you try to buy low and sell high just like you would on a real stock market. There are millions of stubs to be made if you do this efficiently and consistently. Not the most exciting thing in the world, but it seems like that's your only option to achieve what you're looking for? I'm trying to not take it personal (I know you don't mean it that way) it just is beyond frusterating feeling like I can play against the CPU on All Star just fine but get online and I can't keep up with anything and it's killing me. Flipping is dumb (not offense if you enjoy it) and any time I try I get stuck with something I don't want. Just feel like events should be a gateway to online play. And as I type this I throw a change up in the dirt that gets no doubted into the stands, if I can't throw in the dirt and I can't throw in the zone, I just don't know what to do Right. Well, I tried offering you an option that seems to fit your wishes despite flipping being dumb. I don't like it either, but it works. You could also, like me, choose to not play this game. That way you wouldn't have to deal with any of the frustration and I can tell you first hand.. it's great. I appreciate the attempt to help, and honestly as much as I enjoy this game DD is the only thing that interests me due to the history of baseball but I missed out on the major collection cards last year due to so many being tied to this terrible online system and already am feeling that it's gonna be worse this year, I wish I hadn't bought the DD edition and feel like I should be playing. I'm like 2-14 on the day, and am frusterated because I don't feel like I am anywhere near the level of people I'm playing (Maybe events just aren't for casual players I guess? [censored] us then)

Like others said, maybe focus on BR to start. Lots of good rewards. Technically, you don't even have to win to get them. Just grind out the program. Appreciate the advice, maybe have to look into that at least til I run out of stubs entering

Weren't these packs 35k last season? Seems like a huge increase in pack price especially considering come tomorrow we'll have had our 3rd 50k pack in 1 week...that's a bit much unless they are going to flood us with these packs in programs/missions etc. It's easy to say skip these cards, but with each pack having 3 guys that are end game for all of the first and second season still hanging above 100k there isn't a way to earn that many stubs in a reasonable time, and everybody knows these cards will matter at some point for a super collection

How am I supposed to finish collections when in the somewhere around 300+ packs I've cracks along with Headliners and Ballin's I've pulled a whopping 4 diamonds. Pull rates are trash, and I don't have the want or time to sit in the market "flipping" cards. It's the worst part about this game that SDS doesn't seem to mind being the focal point for many. When I get time I want to play the game and get cool rewards. I miss the big overall XP path from 2 years ago, but now we get crappy FOMO innings and your enjoyment of being able to compete comes down to dumb luck on pulls (Mine were all trash 85-86 overalls) or playing the market/buying stubs.

Based on timing, maybe they found the bug that let so many cheese the 2nd inning and are implementing it so that the bosses aren't 50k by the end of the day

I just put in a ticket yesterday, lost my Wander Franco...just in time for his value to go back up.
-
May 7, 2021, 11:45 PM
The sad truth is like many other devs they WANT the FOMO to be strong so that you feel obligated to spend if you can't get the cards by playing the game. It's blatantly obvious since we went from a great structure last year to this mess. We've got silver cards that may be important to collections later that are completely unattainable now and will be 10k plus in a month.
Maybe they'll take the feedback about the FOMO and re-evaluate for next year...

Only the high 90+ guys will keep value. We have already had a 30k diamond pack with another coming on Friday? Plus Topps Now cards, 2 Headliner packs a week, these cards will lose their value twice as quick as last season. MUT MLB edition, here we come.

how many mlb 21 stubs have you guys bought so far?
I'm strongly considering buying stubs for Mike Trout day 1. To get him for 160K on launch day essentially saves you 140K stubs because he'll jump to 300 soon enough.
I like the idea of being NMS, but watching his price slowly rise and rise was a killer last year.
Same that’s the only 100$ dollars I’m spending on the game . NMS Road all the way through after that Lots of Showdowns will be played .
According to CBREV's video, Trout could be had from 150K-175K on launch night. So my 150K stubs for $100 and the 25K stubs from the digital deluxe should be just enough. I can sell cards from the packs to get more.
Then it makes the grind a little easier but still get to enjoy the long grind of showdowns, conquest etc without the big fish looming over my head.
I think he was saying you might be able to get him that cheap...and you won't. I packed Trout in my first pack last season, sold him 3/12/2020 11:01PM PDT for 295,111 stubs. Trout will always be the big gatekeeper because he's also the best live series card in the game, and if Pedro is the AL collection, be ready for that to drive him up even more for the first couple of weeks.
