What I’ve learned so far is virtually every MLB player is also really good at football and basketball.

Not really.

Mini Seasons is great, and I prefer it much more than playing scrub teams in Conquest. They just need to fix the technical issues people are experiencing with the mode.

There's an argument to be made that PP's in a video game in competitive online mode should always be rewarded. Whether you agree or not, it's a valid POV. I don't agree, and the OP stated his case immaturely, but there's a case to be made.
It's not real life baseball. It's a video game. User input should trump all. People will disagree as to whether that means success 100% of the time, but it's a valid argument.
It’s not a valid argument though. To begin with, perfect/perfect hits are always rewarded - with high velo. But the only way to guarantee a hit of some kind would be to cause all P/P’s to have a scripted outcome in the form of a homerun or a hit that is guaranteed to avoid a fielder’s glove. Scripting of events like that is exactly the kind of thing a sports game should avoid - especially one that is ostensibly represented as a baseball sim.
I think zone hitting already gives the game more of an arcade/stick skills focus than I would personally like. Now some of you are acting like they should go even further in that direction. That’s the last thing SDS should be doing.

A byproduct of the feature I didn’t think about initially is also having to face these guys when playing the CPU in modes like Conquest. I played the Cubs last night and even though I won without much trouble, I did give up one run on a monster solo shot from Happ. I like that it can also add a little more challenge in those game modes as well.

I think the only one of those who is in question for being a first ballot HoFer is Yadi, but I think he gets in at some point. Personally I think he is a first ballot pick, but I’m also a Cardinals fan and am biased.

I had the same exact thing happen with him during a Conquest game yesterday. I think it’s a unique glitch as to him.

Sure it's valid, even if you don't like it. I don't prefer it, either, but it's still valid.
Because it's COMPETITIVE mode, and it's user skill vs. user skill. If you square up a PP, you won. But you still lose. In franchise mode, Conquest, etc., fine. But in RS or BR, it is a problem.
Again, I personally don't mind it, but I can see and understand how in a competitive mode it is a problem.
It’s not valid because it’s not workable. How do you guarantee a hit that isn’t a homerun? The game would have to account for who is in the field, who is hitting, what the weather conditions are, what the defensive alignment is, etc., and manipulate the ball trajectory to avoid the defense, even if it results in a completely illogical outcome (illogical by the parameters of the game itself, not just real life baseball.) So the exact same hit by the exact same player will have to be manipulated by the game engine to behave in a way that guarantees it’s not caught or fielded. That is unrealistic, unreasonable, and unworkable. It’s not valid.
And surely you don’t think what would otherwise be a P/P ground balls should just be coded to become home runs.
It’s a suggestion that wasn’t thought through and doesn’t have a valid solution. It’s not a difference in philosophy, it’s simply fantasy vs fiction.
