But when an opponent hits R2 doesn’t the clock icon appear?

I even narrowed the field to PlayStation players only as an experiment. Still happens.

Multiplayer only. And yes regularly. Not every game or I would be winless

My timing might be from time to time but that’s just good pitching by my opponent
Guessing a pitch is no longer a thing right?
There are people I play against that it seems like it is. If it’s an obvious time for a fastball for example and I press x for fastball the onscreen x button “bounces” back at me. If I want to stick with the fastball I need to hit x a few more times, and than some kind of hit seems to always happen for my opponent.
If I decide not to choose the fastball. Every other button I hit works the first time.
I used fastball as an example here but it can happen on any button or R1. Sure makes it easier to hit off speed or a slider when you know you don’t have to cover a fastball.
I have four controllers and this happens with all of them
Anyone else experience this?

Been trying to figure out why when I play some opponents, and I believe it’s cross play only that they are able to lock out my pitch selection. Lock out is likely the wrong term here. Are they guessing my pitch and the game is just letting me know that they guessed slider in case I want to change it? For example, it’s the perfect time for a Randy Johnson slider and it appears the batter thinks so as well because I have to press it twice if I want to stay with it.

Nice game update. What did Kyle Manzardo do to deserve this?
