One could pick both their and the AI's uniforms for exhibition gameplay. Now that option to pick and choose the AI's uniform style seem to be removed. Did the developers remove that option or am I doing something wrong?

When it came to the newly added old stadiums that modern day exhibition games would have modern day crowds like the Polo Grounds and other classic stadiums.

New announcers, revamped play-by-play, new player celebrations, revamped crowd animations only to have night game lighting to be the same...dark and...dark. What's the point of revamping the crowd animations especially for the postseason and for there to be that immersive feel if you can't see the crowd in the ballpark? I think I said last year that Brewer Field was dark. I see video for 22 and its like they made it darker. I just don't get it. What's so hard giving the stadiums a bit more life and vibrancy by giving the bleacher seats and seats around the field more lighting? You can develop all these cool new features and have pitcher camera angles that matches every team's actual broadcast camera but can't match the actual night game lighting for each team? You can fix that in a simple patch. At this point, they're just doing it on purpose because there's no way you can have people on various platforms make the same complaint for years and on your website board and not rectify such a small issue? But can give us new modes, animations and commentary but not see that night games look like a mausoleum? It's like are we dealing with an art department for a video game or am I on the wrong board? Mind-boggling. You can just watch an actual games and see the difference.

Some of these things should have already been added.

Another one that comes to mind is Altuve. Altuve in The Show looks like he is 6-0 tall with longs arms, an expanded, big chest and a smaller head. if I were to remake his model it would be more like Albies...a smaller chest, shorter arms and bigger head. Same goes for Alex Bregman. Alex Bregman arms are long, chest expanded and head smaller when his model should be similar to Chas McComick...bigger head, shorter arms smaller upper. And Dominic Smith is another. He has shorter arms when he has longer arms for a guy his height.
-
... a player model(s) or edit or create an accessory for a player model, who would that player be and what if any accessories would you edit or create for them?
I'll start with Hall of Fame second baseman, Craig Biggio. Anyone who watches clips or seen Bige play knows of his big, oversized pine tar laden batting helmet. However, in The Show, his batting helmet is rather tight fitting unlike what he was known for. I like the Big Hurt's model because he wears the oversized batting helmet like he did during his time with the Sox.
The same could also be said for DJ LeMahieu of the Yankees. In the Show, DJ has this small helmet, short sleeves uni when his fit is roomier with longer sleeves and oversized helmet. And DJ's forearms in The Show are incredibly skinny compared to what we see on tv.
And I wish they added those high socks at knee level like Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio. That style has been a trend in baseball for a while since the '90s with the Reds and in the '10s with Hunter Pence. That would make guys like Bo and Cavan standout style wise in the game as they have done with the Jays.

They literally just put out the same game every single year, and I keep buying it because I love baseball and want updated rosters. But there needs to be some competition to force Sony to make a better game. You can play mlb the show 14 and there really isn't a big difference all the way up to 22. Some of the game modes are pretty cool, but gameplay wise they just collect your $60 and re release the same game every year.
And all they have to do is watch the games on TV and mimic the real game to upgrade. They do own the exclusive gaming rights of MLB. It just doesn't make sense that you can't have multiple motion capture sessions of new and exciting defensive plays in the diamond, outfield, behind the plate ready for the following season release. There are so many routines to copy from 50 years of baseball let alone the past 10 years to better the game. Think of it, when the catcher gets a pop up in the the show they either go back to home plate or go back to the dugout. The catcher never picks up the face mask when going back to the plate or the dugout. They leave the mask in the spot they dropped it. Make a cut scene where the catcher at least bend over before the next batter or from high view show the catcher walk back to the dugout with a mask in hand. Simple things. Simple things.

..the lighting for night games correct for anything, huh? Jeez
If they can't do that I wonder if they added anything note worthy to RTTS.
-
I hear there was a patch sometime ago for updated lighting which I assumed they meant updated lighting for night games...if so where and what stadium did they update the lighting for night games? Or is it lighting for something else in the game?
-
So do I.

"Ya'll wild" yada, yada, yada "Believe this forum to be civil" yada, yada, yada. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you somehow neglected to read the comments of those who mentioned how their tickets were never responded to because they achieved those stubs and how this kind of disconnect has been going on for years. But the people here are just toxic for no reason. Here's the thing though, it's one thing for people to complain because those catching the flak didn't comply to each and every issue and then there's toxicity where not only are flack catchers not addressing those issues but they're not doing the simple things to show the people they want to better the game in a timely fashion - and maybe they are with upcoming patches but you also do it by keeping the people updated addressing their stub or server concerns in an efficient manner or communicating better with people on the boards. If this way was done and you address the people you wouldn't have to worry about "toxicity". Treat people like they just paid a $100 for your game. Bro, this is simulation sports. How hard is it for one to mimic a sport you have exclusive rights to? They did put Onyx 'Let the boys be boys' in playlist as a jab at traditionalists. Well then where's the extra accessories as the players on the field and updated presentation. This is nothing against the Show but no one should have tell guys who have exclusive rights to mirror a game they probably watch daily.
There are other games I'm seeing for lesser consoles that are mind numbingly nuts graphics wise. But you're telling me that updating a sports game (not creating a new world like fantasy games) with better night game lighting, better accessories, better game presentation after years of asking is complaining or toxic when people are paying a $100 for next gen after purchasing a console for close to half a grand? "Haha".

What are you blabbering about? I'm on Xbox series X and the lighting is incredible.....

I think for many of the known stadiums the lighting got better for night games compared to last year where certain stadiums like Citi Field, Yankee and Reds stadium looked eerily dark especially in the outfield. But that still isn't an excuse. You have pictures all over the internet...I mean you have exclusive rights with Major League Baseball to render their ballparks. You mean to tell me developers can't even look at night games on TV and transfer that knowledge over to a video game? Is rendering lighting in a game that difficult? I understand maybe trying to make the background dark to probably make the players on the field graphically pop but the graphics will do so anyway for night games if you used real life lighting. It just simple things such as lighting that make you wonder. There is no mentioning of classic stadiums like Ebbets Field, Tiger Stadium, Municipal, Three River Stadium. Create a Stadium is a bummer, even if they took three years to develop. I just don't think there is no care really for the visuals but only DD, Franchise and RTTS. We get new accessories but those should be a given and added years ago.
Another Xbox I see. lol

I agree. Especially in the bleachers and upper deck in many of the ballparks there’s almost no lighting. I’m playing on PS5 in 4K HDR. It’s been like this for years and this year it only seems worse. How do the fans in the bleachers even see their hot dogs??
What's so funny is it has nothing to with HDR or the processed rendering of a game. It's SIMPLY not paying or giving the slightest bit of attention or care to something that is seen every two games of series for over 50 years: NIGHT GAMES. The proper lighting should be fixed, signed, sealed and delivered if not in an updated patch or by the start of the next game. How do you make the stands that dark and call it simulation is beyond me. Are there any Twins fans playing as the Twins on the Show see the night games at Target Field? Bro.. it's completely pitch black...like seriously. It's one thing to say you're complaining about lighting and it's another to see that. As Twins fans how do you take that seriously especially for game players who slave over Franchise Mode and treat their franchise team like the real thing?
It can't be dimming the bleachers light to make it easier for the batters to see because there are some stadiums where the seats are brightly lit like bleachers behind the LF wall at Camden Yards.
This is what got me...the bleachers in LF are well lit like the real Camden but if you look at Petco in San Diego where the seats in LF are similar to that of Camden... it's dark. Now Petco Park, compared to what it is was for years, is the place to be. Why? Because of the most electrifying guy in the game today...MLB The Show's COVER ATHLETE FTJ. How is it that Camden is almost on point but the stadium that is hot in the ratings right now where your cover athlete plays looks so dark. Go look at Minute Maid it's ridiculously dark for night games--and this is a team that made it to two WS.

I’ve noticed in the night games everything is a lot darker.
LmaoI just now played in other stadiums like American Family Field in Milwaukee for night games and I'm like bro WTH? Are they trolling? Because none of the stadiums are like that in real life. The games look good for day games but night games start to become cringe for majority of the stadiums.

As good as the developers are, it's like they enjoy making gamers wait. I'm playing against Cueto in San Fran and in the cutscene he takes off his hat and reveals a skull cap. I was amazed...I didn't know skull caps were even in the game. Then I looked and Jose Ramirez has one, too. I'm like why don't they add that in create or edit player? Have different skull caps like team issued caps with the team logo on the front and regular skull cap like what Cueto and Ramirez is wearing and put Cueto type dreads in the editing tool. Acuna wears multiple chains and opened jersey. He's a top 5 player in the game. Let gamers edit players with chains outside their jersey (a chain limit) and have opened jerseys like Luke Voit, Big Papt, Gary Sanchez, Big Hurt, Hundley, Manny R and so on. These are things we've seen in the baseball for decades at a time. Why take so long with something simple as look of player models in 2021 when we now can edit an entire stadium? This is simulation right? But we prioritize players floating doing the Superman to home plate after hitting a home run? Once again, this should be simple. Cosmetics is what sells your games especially when simple game players don't do other game modes and want to feel as close and emulate the game as possible.

I’m playing the PS5 version in 4K, I’ve noticed in the night games everything is a lot darker. Sometimes it looks like some stadium lights went out. Is there a HDR setting I’m missing in the game, or is this just how it is? Show 20 wasn’t this bad and my TV settings are fine, I have a Sony Bravia. Anyone notice this?
Yup, you're spot on. It's been like that for years. It's just weird. Last year Citi Field in the outfield look like if you weren't an avid baseball fan and played the video game you would think the team in real life didn't pay their lighting bill for night games. It was completely dark in the bleachers. This year a bit better but now they put light in the top deck in LF which I have no reason why (lmao) it's always dim there (check the images online) but the RF porch which is always lit for night games is dark.
Same goes for Oracle Park. RF bleachers dark. Everything from LF to LF center to center fine but to RF dark. It's something about RF they like making dark for night games. So now Yankee Stadium and Petco Park RF stands is lit now their LF bleachers is dark which doesn't correspond with their real life counterparts. I just don't get it. You have all the time in the world research(which it shouldn't be difficult even if you have internet) and implement this for diehard fans who watch these teams consistently and emulate their favorite teams (roster updates, Franchise, etc.). Like I said, completely weird. You would think in the world of developing and simulation sports this would be a minuscule task.
-
I say what the heck I want to say. And no it's not "incredible." But because you're an Xbox gamer everything looks great cuz you got an actual game. If you look at the lighting for different stadiums in MLB the Show it's nothing remotely like the actual games. But this is supposed to be simulation right? What can be more difficult than looking at stock photos or any live games and applying it to a video game? You know how many years people were complaining about only that? Like C'mon, at least make it look like there's a conservative effort.
