I took some time out to publicly hate on this game, so I publicly want to thank SDS, because after I angrily uninstalled, hated online and took a five or six day break....I reinstalled with a new mindset, although still completely expecting to fail and then I realized that The Show is actually a wonderful game that is very difficult to master, like real baseball and I like it.
This game is designed for entertainment and at the end of each session we have to ask ourselves, were we entertained?
My advice to anyone struggling and frustrated with this game is to stop worrying about stats/hr timing windows and algorithms and just play to win the game. Most people don’t care how the game plays, if they win, it’s the losing. Losing online, losing to the computer, losing moments, people hate to lose, me too and when you play this game and when you play real baseball you are going to fail and you’re going to lose, a lot.
I suck at hitting. Seriously, I think I only have one or two players in my lineup that are batting over .200, But I have to admit some of these low scoring pitchers duels have had me sweating on the edge of my seat I mean really nailbiting stuff trying to win a close game.
Winning at this game feels better than winning at any other game because it’s so hard.
Also, for those who want to hit a homerun every at-bat
there is a mode called homerun derby where the “algorithms” are set to give you a homerun nearly every time if that’s what you like to do.
- I play DD versus friends almost exclusively and our games never freeze.
Thanks SDS because I have been having fun playing this game even though I still suck, good entertainment value.
