I had the same thing happen yesterday. I can't swing anymore or do anything with the buttons while I'm on the field, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Luckily I had another controller I could try, and it worked. I then tried another game with the first controller, and it worked fine, so it's something with RTTS and my controller.
