I have talked with a number of people about this, but I'm still surprised there's not much discussion that I can find in this forum or search engines. This controller, and AFAIK all first-party XBOX controllers, do not work correctly in MLBTS 23. I suspect some users don't realize this and are not playing as well as they could otherwise.
I am not referring to the problem regarding wireless connections which may or may not still exist (people doing pinpoint pitching would see it skip along the path). I am referring to non-smooth joystick inputs in general — an issue that is not fixed by plugging in.
To test for yourself, try to move your PCI in a circle just casually. It will be very skippy rather than moving in a smooth arc. You'll notice non-smooth paths with pinpoint pitching as well but I find that the system seems to "forgive" those jagged lines for whatever reason. I'm told the XBOX controller joysticks snap to the cardinal directions and MLBTS is a rare game that doesn't account for this in translating the controller inputs to the game.
All the serious XBOX players I know use third-party controllers for MLBTS specifically. For instance, the $30 PowerA wired controller that you can find at any US big box retailer works way better than a wired Elite Series controller because the joysticks have smooth inputs.
Has SDS ever acknowledged this issue? Has anyone found settings that alleviate it?
