It’s an unavoidable part of the game. There’s two ways to lose in this game. You can lose gracefully like a real man, recognize you were beat, tip your hat, and move on to the next game… this is rare in this game.

The other way is like a 5 year old child, have a tantrum, do obnoxious things like put the controller down or disconnect mid flight on a home run or anything else that involves toxic play, including throwing fastballs at the hitters head. And I gotta say, this game brings out the very worst in so many people that it’s downright pathetic, like a completely flawed human who thinks winning a video game is somehow important and takes it all way too seriously, and cannot accept defeat. And what you can see on here is truly a microcosm of society, how young men are largely a bunch of absolute wimps who can’t handle the adversity of taking a loss.

If I just described you, first of all, shame on you, you know better or at least you should. I think of everyone I play on here as if they were my friend sitting beside me on the couch and we have a friendly competition. I know I’m not going to win every game, heck, winning more than half the games is an achievement if you’re playing against someone of similar skill level. I don’t care about my record or stats, I just like playing baseball. Obviously, there are times where the matchups are wildly uneven and I quickly get trounced by someone who is far more skilled at the game, but even against them, I’ll never stoop to any childish behavior. Quitting an uneven game is fine, but everyone needs to learn to lose gracefully.

If you’re one of those poor losers, you owe it to yourself as a human to overcome this gaping flaw in your human condition. It’ll make you a better person at the end of the day. You must recognize none of this matters in any way in life. Winning a video game is not everything, it’s nothing. It’s absolutely positively meaningless. If you’re playing this game and constantly frustrated when you lose and only enjoy the game when you win, you’re doing it all wrong. Time to rethink everything, especially who you are as a person.

  • Opponent mid-play quit to avoid a loss leaves me stuck in game
  • a761506_MLBTSA a761506_MLBTS

I take comfort in the fact that they're a pathetic person who needs to cheat in order to feel better about themselves for exploiting a video game... those wins and losses clearly mean a lot more to them than they do to me.

@x814xmafia The throw came to the plate thrown by the CF way after my tagging runner had scored from 3rd making it 2-0, but the score didn't change, the runner just stood there frozen as seen in the video, and then a message popped up that opponent disconnected but never exited me out of the game and gave me the loss.

  • 2024 is the worst iteration since I started playing in 2016
  • a761506_MLBTSA a761506_MLBTS

I can't believe how incredibly bad it is...

Starting with the most obvious thing that impacts every single game, every single play... the new font. The new font makes nearly every number in the game illegible. I never know what speed any runner has, it looks like a blur, and that's on a 4k gaming monitor. This is the most egregious design screw up in the game, like how did something this careless and dumb happen???

Sounds effects are horrendous as well. I'm no longer able to completely mute the game with the exception of game sounds. If I do that now, I get a annoying white noise, and then I hear nothing but a ton of footsteps.

Last season finally got me to stop grinding because there was just no way I was going to do every program and mission and team affinity instead of play the game for competition and enjoyment.

Even though I bought '24, I've decided I'm going to stick with '23. The moonshot event is so much fun and I don't have to deal with facing 99 pitchers. I've got an incredible team built, the game play is excellent, I'm not grinding '24 at all.

  • Best possible line up?

@X-FREEZE-OFF-X I'm saying, user skill always being a constant, the coding for each player does ultimately make a difference over a large sample size.

  • PS5 Controller suddenly lags, but only when hitting, and only sporadically - help!
  • a761506_MLBTSA a761506_MLBTS

I just took my controller apart to flip the left stick upside down because of wear. I have done this before. Disassembly and reassembly went fine, controller seems to work perfectly, pitching with meter using the buttons, no problem. But hitting using button inputs and there is crazy lag and sometimes won't swing at all, and other times, works perfectly, and this is online and offline. No changes to any other settings or the network or anything, I'm plugged into a high speed cable modem.

Where did it all go wrong?

  • Playing the game makes me feel physically uncomfortable
  • a761506_MLBTSA a761506_MLBTS

It has never been like this before, but the 2021 version of the game took a step backwards by allowing high level pitchers to be far too strong, and with so many able to hit edges and corners with unbelievable consistency, the game has me on edge every time I play it online to the point that my gut is physically aggravated and it is an uncomfortable feeling. I think it's from all the failure. This game is no fun when you can't bat .200 with every player on your god squad and you're facing a guy who can pinpoint on command.

To be honest, I have come to hate playing.

  • Learn to lose like a man
  • a761506_MLBTSA a761506_MLBTS

Anyone who has ever quit a game before the end in any other way than using the "Quit" option is a Loser in every aspect of life. Plain and simple, a shell of a man. Baseball is a microcosm of life, and if you cannot accept defeat like a man and instead run away and hide and quit, that tells me everything I would ever need to know about you as a person. That you are pathetic and weak. Your fragile ego hurt over getting beat in a video game. Dashboarding is a crutch for the weak. Intentionally timing an opponent out is equally obnoxious. There is nothing wrong with properly quitting a game when you are beat or outmatched, but to intentionally do it in any other manner should affect you to the deepest pits of your soul because it isn't right. And if it doesn't, you don't even recognize how pathetic and weak you are.

Everyone needs to toughen up. Learn to lose like a man if you are going to play a man's game.

SDS, please put an end to the wimp-boy quitting.

  • Missed bosses you're looking forward to
  • a761506_MLBTSA a761506_MLBTS

Gwynn is intriguing in name, but when you look at your other available options in OF, it's difficult to justify playing him in RS primarily due to his lack of power. When your OF could consist of any combination of Mays, Mantle, Trout and Griffey Jr., just to name what I would consider my top 4 options, all are more valuable hitters than Gwynn, all are better fielders, and aside from Griffey at 85, all have better speed.

  • Number 1 Thing To Fix 2022
  • a761506_MLBTSA a761506_MLBTS

Anyone who pulls plug rather than proper quit gets 15 minute suspension. If it happens twice within an hour, they get a 1 hour suspension, 3 times within 3 hours and 24 hour suspension.

It’s so annoying, especially when someone quits mid play and the game gets stuck in limbo for 3 minutes until they time out. Everyone knows what I’m talking about. It’s obnoxious.

SDS please put an end to this unsportsmanlike behavior.

  • Repeated disconnects
  • a761506_MLBTSA a761506_MLBTS

I have no control over it… game freezes in the 2nd inning after a pick off throw to first… all controls are dead, a minute or so later it says opponent disconnected.

  • Repeated disconnects
  • a761506_MLBTSA a761506_MLBTS

BR game just froze in the 2nd inning, it is still holding me hostage after I just took a shower, just shows my second baseman, can’t get off the screen until I close out of Show. Game before froze early on, it let me out at least, even gave me a W when I was trailing 0-3 after 2 (I’d probably have beaten him, he had a luck 3-run HR on a curve at the ankles)

Anyone else having similar issues right now?
