How does discovering cards work?

I unlocked the Red Sox card for stage 2 team affinity today but it said someone else discovered the card and it was me. Can someone explain why this happened. Any answer are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It goes by first person to unlock the card globally, also how did u get tje red sox 1b 2b and rf hits to register right?

I did not do the 1B 2B RF hits at all. I just bought Yankees Orioles blue Jays and Phillies player when they were low and did the exchange them all and unlocked the card that way. This is the only card I did this for. Thanks for explaining the discovery process to me. I appreciate it. For all the other team affinities I will do the stat mission and grind some innings as well Showdown and maybe am MYO or two.

Someone beat you too it. All 30 cards were discovered and in under 15 min. You just weren’t the first to unlock the card is all that happened.

With someone reaching prestige level like 2 weeks after release the speed of these discoveries never shocks me.
