Came back to see if it’s changed

Was bored, so I decided to hop on for a game and see if things have changed regarding the issues and LOL that’s what I get for thinking. Betts (arguably games best defender) runs past 3 fly balls in 4 innings. Yes you read that right. Didn’t lock on and just ran straight past it. Then in the 5th, Bellinger does the same thing in center. At this point I’m about to just quit, but I keep playing. 2 batters after the drop by Belly, I give up a dinger on an early swing on a low and away sinker. After I was squaring up everything the whole game, just wasn’t getting hits because the pitch wasn’t directly in the center of my pci. Aaaaannnnnndddddd I’m done until they fix this, it’s absolutely past the point of ridiculous.

I actually had a decent day for fielding for once. Had a couple blunders but less than normal. However, I had multiple games where my opponents were missing easy catches and I could tell it was this lock on issue. I’ve gotten to the point that I won’t go past 2nd base on these just because I feel bad for the other person having been there so many times lol
It really is ridiculous that this hasn’t been addressed yet

I want them to explain to us players why they drastically changed this game on release day. They didn’t do it because they were bored. It was intentional and I’m curious about those intentions.

Me and my brother were just talking about this. We think the game was best when it was first released, and has steeply declined since then lmao

I feel like it doesn’t happen to people I play much, but I always feel terrible when it does happen to someone else because I feel the pain

Nope hasn’t changed

Wonder when they’ll give in, just by sitting through posts on here it seems like they’re losing a lot of players until they fix things

They don't care, they've already got our money.

This seems to be true most years. People overreact so much to a product they’ve had for less than a week and the developers go an make drastic changes that become season long issues. The only good change from a launch game that I can recall is taking HR/9 out last year.

Today was my worst fielding day this mlb the show season. Byron Buxton cost me the game by not locking in to a fly ball he was clearly under than he decides to run past the ball once it dropped and take his sweet time picking it up.

I just see your avatar and assume you are SaintsFan guy. So I ignore you. No offense , real Saintsfan guy with the same avatar.

It was actually a good day in fielding today , just got hit in the face only once ! And only one bobbled ball

Too easy to get perfect/perfect, top players were batting .600 or more. It was because pitching was so terrible though, not because hitting needed nerfing to the point we all swing a wet newspaper. Makes you mad doesn’t it?
“If you thought you were just really bad at pitching when playing Ranked Season games, it wasn’t just you. Balls were flying out of the virtual park at an alarming rate in DD, and it appears the rest of the The Show community saw it as an issue as well.
So much so Sony San Diego Studios has increased the hitting difficulty in the mode. It’ll take a couple of days before we know exactly where we are with this aspect of the game, but it’s good that it only took one day for the change to be put into effect.”

The answer is that the data they collected showed way too much scoring, way too high slugging and way too high OPS. They want to represent a baseball simulation, those numbers represented an arcade game.
I don't agree with their decision making either, but I'm pretty certain this answers your question. -
