I love The Show, and have been playing for years now. I spend a lot of money every year. A lot of time every year. I’m a teacher and have been grinding for the past month since I haven’t been having to work (very thankful to be a teacher in these uncertain times). But I don’t remember a game being this broken. Hitting is an absolute nightmare, pitching makes me pull my own hair out, and fielding is far worse than the other two combined. I have a team filled with diamonds and just lost to an all gold squad, gave up three bombs on “early” swings on low and away change ups with Scherzer. Had 13 hits, but everytime it was a hanger, you bet it got popped up or I grounded into a double play, no matter where my pci was. Yelich had 3 errors in 6 innings, I took him out because I was so mad. I understand he’s not a great fielder, but dude is an MVP candidate every year and is easily one of the most well rounded players in the game. I know this is just one game, but it has been like this for the past 10-15 games for me. closed the game and won’t be back on until an update changes something. The game isn’t fun anymore, and that’s when a company should know things need to change, especially when there’s as many complaints daily as there is right now. Rant over. It’s up to you SDS.

There aren’t any flaws with this game. It’s perfect and the best game ever made.

I'm staying out of ranked until fielding is fixed probably. Might play a game here and there.
I'm glad the new April monthly program wasn't a money grab, at least they aren't that tone-deaf, but I really hope to see something soon. With the spotlight on the game because of the players tournament, you have to think they're trying to fix it

I hear that, I felt exactly the same last week. The hard part is I really want to like this franchise and I want to support the game and development team behind it, because it’s fun when it all works as intended. I can have fun win or lose, if the game plays in a balanced and logical manner. Sadly the combination of terrible fielding, seemingly random at times pitching and punishing swing timing windows at HoF level and upwards make the game feel a real chore. If you want to take the game in any way seriously and feel competitive, the combination of glitches, bad animations, good/okay low exit velo results on squared up swings and excessive low scoring, high strikeout games are enough to exhaust even the most dedicated player after a game or two. As you said, it’s simply not fun. It’s an exercise in frustration and how much you can stand before you have to quit for a while and cool off.
It’s a shame, because some of the new features would be great, I really like the look of the updated stadiums, Oracle Park looks sensational with the Coca-Cola bottle out in the stands now and I’m digging the return of classic cards from years past, nostalgia and line up variety for the 15th anniversary gets a thumbs up. Until we get some serious gameplay tweaks, the main focus will be on the bad aspects that detract from the effort that SDS have put into this years game. Hopefully that will happen really soon.

One of the better summaries of the game I’ve read so far.
