Can you play as one of the teams in the tournament? And if so, can you earn TA progress with the players' MLB team?

Ex: Can I play as Team USA and earn progress towards, for example, the Yankees and Red Sox TA programs?

No,you replace one of the teams in the tournament with your team

If Roman Anthony is on your team you are gaining Red Sox TA

You can't take over the US team, but the entire lineup is in the game, you are only missing some relievers.
