No sell free torpedo bat

Can somebody please explain to me if the torpedo bat is a no sell item Why are there buy orders and sell orders on the market .

Because the same bats are on the market from earlier this year

Yup. I paid 30k apiece for those bad boys, then SDS decides to give them away for free. I immediately sold my sellable ones for buy it now price.
