Most unenjoyable DD meta ever
-
Been playing Diamond Dynasty for 10 years now and can’t remember a more frustrating meta. Every lineup has at least seven switch hitters. Fastballs are useless. Doesn’t matter the pitcher, just throw sinkers sliders and splitters. Nothing is manufactured, almost all offense comes from home runs. Doesn’t feel like real baseball at all. I have been playing online rated lately and it’s been such a breath of fresh air. There’s disparity ib the cards, the lineups are real and pitching and strategy matter. However, there is no incentive to play this mode, so it’s been very hard to match up with someone. If I want to play online, I’m forced into the slog of diamond dynasty. For 26, I really hope SDS either does a better job predicting the meta and tailoring it to an actual baseball experience or they do something to make it more worthwhile for people to play online exhibitions.

They lean into the meta switch hitters because they know they sell stubs. And the HR meta is taking over real baseball too
Like there was zero reason to make a Bryan Reynolds boss other than the fact he was a switch hitter

@MarinerMatt01_PSN Never played online rated but interested. I keep forgetting it's an option. I thinmk i'll give it a go. how's matchmaking? I'm in agreement with ranked. it's jumped the shark with strikeouts and dingers.

Match making is a bit tough. Not a lot of people play the mode. You may have to wait a few minutes, but it’s well worth it. Feels like an actual baseball game

For me the game is comically bad and unfair at times. I’m already playing guys rated 1000-1100 and I’m outplaying the hell out of them yet my team just suddenly starts making errors. It goes like this. Ball hit to polanco. Polanco fumbles an easy slow grounder. Absolutely no reason that should happen. It’s a video game. Then a follow up dink hit up the middle. Then a late homerun. Suddenly what was a good game no longer is. And even if I’m still up I’m just quitting lately. When I’m getting under 90 exit velo on perfectly timed hits and the balls dying just for the above to happen I’m out and I’m done. I agree with everything you said above. Just wanted to add what made me quit for a month. I started playing again as it’s the only game I know. But I quickly quit out when that kind of ridiculous [censored] happens. For me that’s the worst part of the game this year online.

@MarinerMatt01_PSN I got on and played 4 games of Online Rated last night and had an absolute blast. ran into 3 quitters right off the bat but then played a full game vs the Mariners and lost 3-1. It actually felt like real baseball. Actually played defense and hit the ball into the field. I wish my Royals had more pop but it's fun. I'll stay on this mode for now I think. much more enjoyable than ranked at this point.

@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL forgive me for being silly but what’s the difference between rated online and ranked ?
-
@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL Online rated is outside of Diamond Dynasty and you play with the live series of your chosen mlb team. no 99s just the actual live rosters. No 103 mph craziness, no 475 bombs every time you throw one over the plate. it feels like real baseball and feels so much less sweaty. Just fun... nothing really in rewards.

My experience exactly. If you can get into a game, online rated is the way to go. Real baseball. Even the losses are fun.

@MarinerMatt01_PSN I seem to face the Mariners a lot too.

@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL [censored] I’ve played for years and never even tried it. I’ll be switching to this in order to move away from all the switch hitting god squads lately.
