So let me get this straight. People have been screaming to SDS since this game has came out to fix the horrible fielding. SDS FINALLY comes out with a patch to fix the fielding issues. Now fielding is worse than before. SMH................

It's insane. Springer took one to the head last night on an easy fly out. Helton stood there and watched a check swing pop to first fall 10 ft beside him in another game.

There's a lot of weird stuff. How about all the 1-5-3 ground outs? Ball hits pitcher in face > bounds to 3B > batter out. Pitcher then gets up and strikes me out. Popup hit George Brett right in the face. Outfielders not locking onto the catch circle.

My fielding percentage was .997 before the patch. I made 3 errors in 2 games after patch. Outfielders hovering around the indicator like never before. I did hit 3 HR's though after not being able to hit anything pre-patch

I smacked a ball to the gap and my opponent tracked it down with Victor Robles, he never picked up his hand for the catch and the ball hit him on the coconut, by far the craziest [censored] I've seen happen that wasn't on me. Glad it was him and not me. 😂

I had mantle completely miss a catch that fell 2 ft behind him. Had granderson only side step and not run to a pop up that ended up dropping.
They need to figure this stuff out

I don’t post often, as I find this forum to be so incredibly negative and people cry about stupid stuff because they just aren’t that good. Last year people complained about fielders not locking in and it made no sense. Hitting is also pretty good and this whole Good/Okay complaint makes no sense to me.
But catching fly balls is officially a disaster and it clearly just recently got worse. I was a mess last night trying to make routine plays. Then, after butchering 3 routine fly balls, and I mean very routine, I was then spooked and probably screwed up 2 more because I was nervous and overcompensated, which caused me to probably screw those ones up on my own. It’s really the only part of the game that truly needs fixing. Sure there’s other parts to clean up, but fly balls are a nightmare.

I don't play the game with the fielding bars as I tried and just couldn't get used to it but I have had guys lock on to early and the ball is still going and it doesn't let you get to the ball. Or you are running the player doesn't lock in so then they over run the ball.

I don't see why they had to reinvent the wheel I understand that it was hard for people to make the diving plays but I never had and issue with the defense last year. This year my high level fielders have several errors from them not catching the ball.

I also noticed that the ball when it is a fly ball alot of times is not where the fielder is and still makes the catch

I think part of the problem is the whole diving red circle change they did for 20. I understand the intention, but it is horrible and no one is diving in the outfield because it never works anyways. Also, somehow if you switch fielders in the outfield on pop ups it makes things even worse as far as your switched fielder catching it.
