This is a joke right? Madden has never been in a worse state of BND’s for money. Everything in Madden is geared to get you to open your wallet.

There is a difference between gameplay and monetization though. I assume this thread is about the gameplay itself.
Monetization for EA and 2K is terrible and not going to get any better because it works.

The only reason ea cleaned up their act a little bit is because their exclusive rights deal with the nfl is ending

When Ryan Moody makes a YT video saying Maddens is fixed, I'll believe it. I haven't bought Maddens since crazy A.B. was on the cover. I have the new Maximum Football, but can't get into even real NFL atm. -

I havent played Madden in decades and I decided to try Madden 26 and already uninstalled it, just not for me.
When 'easy' challenges had my receivers randomly dropping passes for no good reason I figured it was worse than show with CPU randomness. And there is just way too much presentation nonsense you can't skip. Game was a chore to play because of this, and MUT is a convoluted mess. And apparently the best captains in the game are for real life money only, and lots of it.
For some reason they decided to make challenges extremely difficult this year all of a sudden the cpu is smarter

I like using Metacritic user scores because I don’t know a lot of gamers out in the general public. This game has a 5.5 rating from users and Madden 26 has a 4.0 from users.

Yet the CPU in every other mode is the equivalent of the show hitting CPU
Another issue I had is that while they have a LOT of repeatable things for offline players to do, you are in defense so much of the time (especially on the 7 down mode) and the clock just barely moves when the CPU does no huddle in an absurdly unrealistic way. And after you sack them 5 of the 7 plays you are on the 5 yard line and cant really enjoy offense.
But part of it is I would rather just watch football than play it. I enjoy baseball gameplay more, and basketball should translate the best since its such a heavily individual game these days anyway (I have issues with how 2K implements it but its still fun to pay on a non serious level)

@Talkingben9558_XBL This is the correct answer. At the end of the day, all these video game studio’s are part of the corporate machine. It comes down to one thing, and one thing only, money. Madden had 3 things that motivated them to change. One, as you stated, they are in their last contractual year with the NFL. Second, last year they recorded their lowest game sales in over a decade. Which leads into the last motivating factor, Madden was down 48% in micro transactions (which is EA’s biggest generator in revenue). Therefore, they had no choice but to improve gameplay. Bottom dollar.

@auburnRN_MLBTS Whatever EA’s motivation was, Doesn’t really matter. The point is they were able to fix multiple issues that had been problems for years…There’s zero reason that SDS can’t fix The Show the same way.

Madden still has a lot of issues with online gameplay. Both games play better offline vs CPU

@Tylerslikewhoa_XBL I think that’s the case with ALL video games. Anytime you’re sharing a connection with another xbox you’re going to be slightly slower even with a strong internet connection. We hope the lag is minuscule but there’s always going to be some lag.
