2nd Inning Showdown: my experience with the final boss...
-
Is that they throw 70-80% balls.
Took me 3 tries to complete facing Feller, Price, and finally Giles.
Giles will tire quicker and lose confidence at a greater rate than the other two but they all throw a lot balls. I screwed the pooch on beating Feller and Price due to stupidity but learned vs Giles and literally put the controller down until I had a full count. He either walked me with a bad 4th ball or gave me a meatball. Needed 9 runs to win outright which I completed with 14 outs remaining and I suck lol
Hope this helps someone who typically struggles with these like I do. And yes, I know they made the 2nd inning showdown easier because of all the "whiners" like me so save your elitism for someone who cares

This Showdown series was stupid easy. Too easy. Some of the single moment challenges like hit a HR in single AB were tough but it didn't matter because the boss challenges were soooooo easy.
I went into the final vs Price 6-15 and rocked his face off for the W.
I'm solid but not that good of a player. I'm in the 600s so far and in the 500s now after a couple losses. I've made CS once in 4 years.
-
I’ll just back your advice by saying I did the same thing last night vs Feller. He walked in or hit my batters even with bases loaded. I didn’t even record a hit until I hit a game winning double to plate two runs.
-
I posted about this yesterday. I scored 10 runs with only 3 hits against feller. I had 11 strikeouts. He walked me 9 times.

Here in lies the problem....a few people are getting through these no problem. It's like the one person that walks into the casino and wins big on the first spin and then goes and tells people about it. SDS wants this so they can point to these comments and say that people are beating these things no problem. Read the countless posts about RNG and perfect/prefects going for outs. I firmly believe these are programmed to guarantee a set amount of entry fees getting paid..like a casino, probably enough to cover all of the stubs they are giving out and more...maybe next inning you'll be one of the ones struggling because your number didn't come up...

That is ridiculous.
One time I was doing the NL Central Showdown and in the finale against Hader he did not walk any of my guys until over 100 pitches. He was completely out of energy after 60 pitches. I took until two strikes with every batter also. Crazy.

People entering like 15-35 times comes out to $5k-$15k. Alot more than $500 total....do the math...there's free calculators out there on the internet...

No, sorry. Not just me. Got a group chat of a Jonny Bench handful of friends and not a single one has had an issue with the 2nd inning so far. Very easy. Too easy.
Bosses of scoee a few handed bases loaded? Score ONE run v beiber with THIRTEEN outs? Then the main woth 20 outs? Childs play.

2nd inning Showdown is pretty easy, but I'm not complaining after how impossible 1st inning was.

Ok. Check out the forum and count how many complaints. Way more than a handful.....this is not just a 2nd inning discussion either, it's a showdown as a whole discussion so make sure to count the first inning concerns as well...I'll wait....

Maybe I got lucky, but i best the 2nd inning showdown on my first try, no issues. I mean, that middle boss needed 1 run with like 13 outs? That has to be a glitch. I went into the final boss down 15-10 and it was smooth sailing. I’m not that good, never been WS and it took me like a dozen tries to pass the 1st inning showdown (granted there was some learning curve with roster construction and such). Only beat one other divisional showdown thing and that took like 5-6 tries. The 2nd inning showdown feels like a glitch and I would assume they will all be harder than this moving forward.

I also believe some are absolutely making it up. People, typically, don't make up their failures and disgust with an experience. T
hey do make up stories about how great they did, are, and how great the game is. It passes a message that others should just keep at it, the game isn't flawed the player struggling just needs more practice.
As opposed to the reality, the average player struggling is a victim of a randomized game experience.
An agenda there..a big agenda.
Don't be gullible and buy off on all the stories you hear about people beating these challenges "90%" of the time. BTW that number, "90%", seems to be a pretty popular gloating point.

Dude you need to read the title of the thread. It is a 2nd inning showdown discussion.
1st inning was hard.
The division showdowns are really really hard.
But 2nd inning is a joke, zero challenge. And people complain about everything.

And you would need to fail the first Boss just as many times to not make your stubs back. Beating the first boss gets you a silver card, which at the minimum sells for 250 with the large majority of them being 400+ stubs. If you fail the first boss that many times maybe DD isn't for them

Thank you for you almighty advice you savant, you. Maybe you can tell what's in Area 51 and who built Stone Henge? The forum, indisputably shows that many people are struggling with all showdowns....

Idk guys, I go into Giles with a good group of vs righty hitters. I can’t get Giles to walk me like you can apparently. I put it down til two strikes, but I’m consistently down 0-2 or 1-2, and yeah I’m hitting the ball hard, but right at people.
Also, where is this one run second boss? I’ve gotten wood, down 3 every single time, and he sucks to face. Failed 2/4.
I’m really frustrated with Giles. I can’t lay off that slider with two strikes on me.
No bickering, but anyone have any help with this? Strike zone 2 cam. Thinking about making a custom to pivot the cam down a bit so I can see the bottom easier, maybe it’ll make the view of that slider easier?

I have noticed some differences in my play throughs of this inning show down. I have had to try it a few times and still havent beat it I still dont think you should have to pay 500 stubs to do the show down and I really hate it is really all or nothing. Also you should be able to replay some of the moments. My game froze and wouldnt do anything so I shut down the ps4 then later when I had some time I started it back up and it said I had failed the showdown??
First play threw the second moment was to strike out joe carter with bases loaded. The second play through I failed the first moment then the next one there was a joe carter moment where you are supposed to walk off as the second moment. I thought it was the same moments.
Feller is the final boss I faced so I'm not sure why everyone is saying Giles is last. Another of the bosses I faced was Bedrosian.
Finally I can not hit with Hanley all of them are just pop ups and break out schoop sucks go for boggs.
