    Most of the attributes are self explanitory. What is the most important, in order, of Vision, Discipline or Clutch?

    Clutch and vision can be swapped depending on difficulty level and wether there are runners on base.

    In ‘20 or 21 they made discipline like HR/9, a simulation stat. It used to influence the ability to check swing. Maybe it influences calls when playing with variable umpires, but I’m not sure. In DD it’s basically useless.

    1. Clutch - On higher difficulties, you want all the clutch/vision/contact that you can get and prioritizing one over the other is problematic. But you can more easily sacrifice vision on lower difficulties so it is less important overall.

    2. Vision - Definitely needed for more favourable timing windows on higher difficulties.

    3. Discipline - It impacts how often your player jumps back and takes a ball inside, sometimes overriding swing inputs when you incorrectly tried to chase the pitch. That’s it. That’s all it does. It’s not in the same ballpark as clutch or vision in importance.

    @rageincage007_XBL, that’s a good question…

    I’ll preface by saying I’m not a good hitter, but back in my Directional and Timing days, I’d say Vision is the most important all day; low vision guys were worthless to me… clutch always helped combat splits (so 2nd), and while discipline helps me because I’ve always (and still do with Zone) used the stick to swing so check a lot, I find the others more important.

    Now, with Zone, I’d put Clutch ahead of Vision.

    Is vision important on timing?

    If you hit the ball on the edge of green its a foul ball 100% of the time, whereas just off green is sometimes solid contact. I feel high vision = more foul balls = higher chance of Ks. id rather take my chances and put the ball in play

    @Teak2112_MLBTS, that’s one way of looking at it…

    I think we’re all speculating a bit when we speak to these things, and I don’t know how much you’ve played with Timing, but I’ve played well over 500 ranked games using Timing/analog over the last couple of years, and my experience is less vision = more strikeouts.

    Back when the Buxton boost was all the rage, I couldn’t use him; far too many times for me to be comfortable with, I’d get swing and misses on good timing on balls around the heart of the zone. Same with Eric Davis, who was always someone I liked as a younger man, but his 40ish vision made him a strikeout machine for me… on decent timing.

    I only ever hit over .300 on Timing with high vision cards, and the lower the vision attribute, the lower the average over time.

    Maybe you had a different experience using it (maybe analog had something to do with it?), but that’s how it was for me over a very large sample.

    @Teak2112_MLBTS vision also affects the timing window.
