Question on controlling all 30 teams

Ok I am considering doing a season for all 30 teams in franchise mode. This is only to keep until the trade deadline and then I will just sim out the rest of the season. After that I want to fire myself as the GM for 28 teams and just keep with 2. Is that possible or would I be stuck having to control all 30 teams?

You can do what I've done.
In settings configure a profile ( Human ) and set everything to manual ( or what you want to control )
In settings configure a profile ( CPU ) and set the values to what you want the CPU to control
Then in settings, set the teams you want to control use the human profile, and set the other teams to use the cpu profile.
You can have everything be human till the trade deadline, then set the teams you don't wanna control to cpu.
I have mine set so that I control all roster moves for all teams. I control the lineups / rotations for my team. The CPU profile does all the things for the other teams ( except injuries, injuries are manual across the board ).

I think I understand, so do the profiles before I begin the new franchise? Because in the current franchise I am just doing some fun with, I do have the CPU roster control turned off but it doesn't allow me to actually control the other teams even though I am only controlling one team.

You can adjust the profiles at any point ( pre or during franchise ).
You just need to setup 30 team control properly at the beginning. Some of those settings can ONLY been set at the start of franchise
