Everyone has something they hate. I think moments are the most monotonous unfun mode in any game throughout gaming history, but I do the ones I have to and skip the ones I can. Showdowns to me are easy (just jinxed myself) and I did the 4 cards on 5 tries. What might make showdowns and moments slightly more palatable to the masses, because not everyone can play as much as some of us can, would be to let the batting and pitching in those modes count towards TA.

I wonder how many fewer complaints would exist if SDS adjusted the RNG even a tad. There are instances where the perfect swing outs pile up similar to how nuisance streamers stack criminal charges. Then there's Kyle Schwarber turning into Brenton Doyle as a fielder. The showdown concept is great but the execution creates for a frustrating experience at times.

Im convinced that anyone who keeps spouting this "play your way" [censored] just want cards for doing nothing. Theres gotta be something...some kinda reward for the multiple game modes. But without fail, every time theres a showdown or diamond quest or a program, some clown has to post "Why do i have to play this mode to get this reward? What happened to playing your way?"
Why should they give you the same rewards for playing vs cpu on rookie when other people are actually rising to the challenge and beating the showdowns or the diamond quests? Man up. Ive never seen so many people complain about playing baseball in a baseball game.
We absolutely love diamond quest, conquest, ranked and battle royal. We don't like moments and showdown is nothing but a series of moments. Do you not think having to repeat these things shows perhaps a shortage of content?
Diamond Quest has 4-5 boss challenges “aka showdown” on every board. Yet you hate showdown, but like Diamond Quest? Okay then.
If you really think about it, DQ is a mix of Showdowns and Moments.
Every "challenge" is a moment. Get a hit....pitch an inning, record 2 Ks...get 2 RBIs. And every mini boss is just a mini showdown. Score 3 runs before recording 8 outs.
But yeah, OP loves the DQ, hates the moments and showdowns.

It shouldnt be hard to come up with something new to do in the game of baseball. The game of baseball thats been played exactly the same with minor rule changes (ghost runners, pitch clocks, etc) for over 100 years. The pitcher pitches...the batter hits...the fielders field.
Heres an idea....instead of telling SDS that they should easily be able to come up with an idea on how to play baseball differently, maybe you can offer some suggestions that are nothing like DQ, moments, mini seasons, conquest or showdowns.

No one is against constructive criticism, but the constant threats and insults. Would love to see how these people would react if they worked in an aquarium like these devs do. Every single mistake amplified to the nth degree by entitled dimwits.

I'm with you when it comes to not liking moments and showdowns. I also don't play mini seasons. I think last year the only card I didn't have was the Bob Feller from mini seasons. like literally, every other card. and I guess I'm ok with it. it was my choice, and I could still get it if I wanted, I just don't play mini seasons, they've left a bad taste and I refuse.

I dont understand this community. Like God forbid, the devs implement something that requires you to play baseball IN A FRIGGIN BASEBALL GAME. Theres really not much they can do in terms of changing the way baseball is played because then it wouldnt be baseball. Im not the biggest fan of showdowns either and if i see one in a program that doesnt give you a mode specific reward, i probably wont do it. But I had no issue doing spring breakout 4 times, no issue doing the Jackie one twice. Hell they even made it easier by making it so failure doesnt reset. How much more do people need their hand held through this game? If you get to Donaldson needing 3-4 runs and you cant get that in 25 outs or 30 outs or whatever, this just isnt the game for you* i guess.
I remember when DD was online and play vs cpu. Then they added conquest...and people complained that its too long to sim. Then they added moments and people complained about everything under the sun. Then they added mini seasons and people complained that playing the Whales and Cats stacked with 99s was "unfair" and too difficult. Seriously....people need to man up and play the game or find something else. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel when its not the wheel thats broken...its the mentality of this community.

Bored of the same experience, comes up with this incredibly lame idea to get 75 wins presumably in a 3-out game. Pretty sure i said to come up with something thats NOT like moments, showdowns, conquests, etc. They already have moments that require you to save a game or score against the cpu team.
Also, how is 75 wins not repetitive in any way?

I'm to the point that I check every day for a repeatable conquest map, see that's there not, and then go do something else. The absolute cluster*** that was Weekend Classic, plus the middle finger from the devs on no repeatable conquest, the joke of a program that is 42, the fact that 2 of the 3 new evolution cards were useless the day they released, the play on the field itself being the worst it's been in almost a decade, and on and on. I'm happy for those that are enjoying themselves, but I honestly don't know how you're doing it. The game is bad. I'm sorry, it's just that simple. And I guess when the devs said "play how you want" they were being meta and what they actually meant was go play a better game, which is what I've been doing. I really, really wanted to love this year, but I just can't keep deluding myself.

I wouldn’t have minded the showdowns if I weren’t still 200k Stubbs worth of cards still needed locked in for the Donaldson. They’ll probably add to this later on and make the set easier to complete but by the power creep is likely well past the card. That’s been the model this year , spend your Stubbs as an offline player to bankroll the online guys or spend your time as offline player feeding online guys pxp and wins.

How is there this much complaints against the showdown? Its not like its on all star or higher. Takes 20 to 25 mins to complete. I will agree though this collection is locked behind a gate.

SDS You shouldn’t be forced to play online ranked to obtain the gold Mickey Mantle and Steve Carlton Cards or Chipper Jones either that is no not right! If you buy there regular cards these should be given to you or at least make these gold cards available in the Market Place so you can extort more money off of people! What’s truly disgusting this year is you guys give the same garbage cards away in packs 10 and 20 duplicates of so many of the same players. Why don’t you put enough of the good players in Packs that you buy compared to the packs that you get for free. You should definitely consider putting out a 50 or 25 pack of cards where you have to spend like a 100k in stubs to get some good players and give people a chance to get an Ohtani card or judge and so on. It’s a shame you guys are so greedy!! I wish another company would make a baseball game to compete with you SDS because if that ever happened you’d be kissing our A$$’s
