Just throwing this out here- I have played the show since 2010, Diamond Dynasty since 2013. Im a fan and always have been. My point is, I am very happy that the power creep is back this year, but one thing that often happens is that pitchers vastly outperform hitters, especially early on. RP and CP as well, it all boils down to the H/9 stat which early on relievers excel at, almost unfair. I love playing the game, but I do not enjoy facing the same three pitchers every game, it was the reason I stopped playing in 22, because that 99 Degrom I faced every game, and I could not touch him in the higher difficulties. And thats where a lot of this problem festers, when you get up past world series everyone is using the same pitchers and its, well to be honest not fun. I know you guys do a good job at listening to feedback, and I know that I am not the only one to share this sentiment, I just want to continue to relay the importance of slowing the pitcher power creep, especially after seeing Randy Johnson and Donaldson added this past week alone.

If you’re getting past World Series how much can you possibly be actually struggling to hit these guys? I think you end up facing the same guys at higher levels because this game is so offense centric there’s only ever 1-3 viable pitchers at any one time. Unless a pitcher has a sinker, outlier, speed differentials, AND a high H/9 you can’t get anyone out unless they chase out of the zone. And guys at higher levels don’t get there because they chase out of the zone.

I almost feel like H/9 should help pitchers more. I’d love to see this game figure out a way to make control pitchers more usable. If more pitchers were usable then there would be plenty of variety

@Redd666ish_PSN I don’t think they’ll ever be able to do so, because IRL a hitter sees about 4-12 pitches in 2 or 3 ABs against that pitcher, so you can be kept off balance.

Since we’re basically seeing 20 ABs as a player with about 60-100 pitches potentially, you can study the SP a lot more.

There are certain aspects of sports that can’t be recreated digitally with a single player seeing the entire field, all plays for an entire game. Same with exploiting speed without worrying about fatigue or awareness in certain sports.
