Cross Play off, not really off

I just played a guy who's name is something like iknoeu09, and they were on Xbox. Im on ps with cross play turned off. Is this a known issue? I haven't seen anyone else.

I think your opponent probably owns a PS5 and an XBox but their XBox is their main.
