I was a zone hitter for the PS2/PS3/PS4 era of this game but for this gen, back with MLB21, I switched to directional.

Now I'd like to go back to zone with 25. I'm not a competitive player and do mostly offline DD and some online DD.

I took some tips from this community on how to start -
    1.PCI is the bat icon
2.Camera is the Strike Zone camera.
3.I start PCI at bottom so to get under the ball when I swing

Offline, I am having some legit success. But online, forget about it. I totally suck.

Any tips on how to transfer that offline zone batting success to online? Should I switch the camera angle? Or is there something I'm doing wrong?

The pitch speeds on inline are much more difficult. Normally takes me a good through the lineup to figure out my opponents tendencies and then I can sit on something specific in a specific location early/ahead in the count. With two strikes you just have to react.

Personally I wouldnt start the PCI anywhere but down the middle. Also practice patience it’s a huge thing with zone hitting since it’s easy to flail at everything and make soft contact . I also try to pick up on patterns my opponent has, and when it’s a lefty lefty match I’ll sit on a first pitch fastball up and in, for some reason that’s an extremely popular pitch selection

I start with pci middle inside so I can get to the up and in sinkers/fastballs more easily. If my opponent really just pitches exclusively low in the zone ill then anchor low and inside. I basically always look for fast and inside.

Can go in practice mode and learn how to time your swing with the batter stride. Once the leg starts to go down with most batters if you time the swing with the kick it syncs the timing pretty good. I wouldn't say it's easy to learn but when you do learn it then it will help alot.

Id go in practice mode for 10-15 minutes everyone before you play in hof or legend and even crank the fastball sliders higher just to warmup and get your eyes to recognize pitches faster

And realize 9 times out of 10 people are throwing sinkers up and in. Sliders low and away then they'll try to sneak fastballs low and away tunneling the slider.

People will tunnel 4 seamers and changeups low hit if you keep swinging at the Changeup low and out of the zone they'll keep throwing it there.

Some opponents will also exclusively throw 4 seamers like middle away EVERY TIME and not adjust. Maybe not in super high difficulties but alot of people just pitch the same exact way the whole game and if you pick up and know the pitch and location you should destroy them

Have you ever used the grey or purple?

I only use greens... Wish they would just sell a pack of greens. Might try some of the knockoffs. I feel like they wear down kind've quick
