Who cares. But your stubs or don’t. It’s not my money. I know I haven’t spent a dime in the last 3 years and by the middle of April I have the LS done.

If someone wants to buy stubs, thats their right but they're also stupid. There are stubs and packs literally EVERYWHERE in this game. Companies exist to make money....did you really expect them to just make the game and then give you free [censored] for the duration? Good lord, man....they give us plenty as it is.

To be fair, I have yet to pull any high diamonds and have gotten a decent amount of stubs these two days. Probably the most I’ve ever gotten this quickly. I don’t understand the OP when Diamond Quest exists. I don’t think it’s ever been easier to make stubs.

It's not a major problem yet. It's just about how it's been trending.

If you don't see them heading more and more towards micro transactions each year then you're just a blind SDS fanboy.

I admit I haven't checked out Diamond Quest yet. Hopefully it's as good as people say it is.

They can head in any direction they want but its ultimately up to the consumer whether or not they follow. They sell stubs because they know some fricken idiot will drop 2K at launch because they just need every card right now. If you're not one of them, microtransactions shouldnt be a problem.

If they ever decide to make every single LS card a .99 cent purchase and sell packs for $5 each, you'd have an argument. Since they give us multiple avenues to earn stubs and packs, you really dont.

Of course they want more stub sales. It sure looks to me like they are trying to figure out how to achieve that while still being extremely NMS friendly (as even 2024 was regardless of all the packs)

Its widely known in the industry that pissing off the average players to milk the whales is the most profitable path, but SDS is not doing that. They clearly care what we think, unlike 2K.

If that wasn't enough, they absolutely obliterated the quick sell value of Gold MLB uniforms from 500 stubs to 100 Stubs and MiLB uniforms from 100 to 25.

This. It's the biggest sign SDS has a goal to be as greedy as 2K. I literally couldn't believe these quicksell changes. It's going to add up to a lot of lost Stubs in the long run.

I also refuse to buy Stubs. If I wanted to waste money on packs I'd play NBA2K, the better overall game.

LOL at calling NBA2k25 the overall better game. The Show is FAR superior. 2K25 is full of people missing layups they would make 99% of the time in real life because a good defender is in farting distance. Or players not jumping for a rebound when you press the button because their stats or badges say no.

And comparing this to anything in 2K is like comparing a little league player to a fully roided Barry Bonds. Thats the difference in greed level.

Anyway, this thread is an idiotic overreaction. Yes, there will be less stubs. But so far the only pack has its contents available all over the place. They also said that packs will be on pace with the current programs, not above. Less stubs, with less reasons to spend them. The market will adjust for the fewer stubs as well.

Also the repeatable packs are there in DQ (much faster rate than USA Map/Jazz map/etc), and they have repeatable stubs (granted 2k is peanuts for playing 20+ 3 inning games). Less quick repeatable show packs in MS at the expense of adding in the shop packs as repeatables instead.

You conveniently left out the fact that at least 2K has graphics that look like we're in 2025, not 2012.

I'm not an idiot. I obviously know SDS is better than 2K for micro transactions. It's just trending in the wrong direction.

wtf does graphics have to do with microtransactions? If you look at the ratings for NBA the past few years on the PS store, Metacritic, Game Informer, etc those are trending in the wrong direction. 2k17 was probably the last good game they made

No matter how good the graphics are, they dont make the game itself good.

Exactly this. I have no issues with spending money in a game, I have spent money in Madden because you pretty much have to if you don't have 800 hours a week to play the game. I haven't spent anything other than the game cost with the MLB the Show series.
