Captains in 2025

Ok, so had an idea regarding Captain Cards for next year. Apologize if this idea has been brought up, but I didn't feel like scouring the boards.
Instead of giving us Player X Captain cards...how about letting us unlock a Team Captain Card. So, no more 87 Dansby Swanson...give us Braves Hitting Captain. Then we can "activate" any card in our lineup to be the captain to activate the boost. Different "Kinds" of Players open up different Ability Boosts. Using the Braves for example...Michael Harris (And similar "Archtype" guys) can open up Contact/Fielding/Speed, Acuna Power, etc. If they're used on Random Guys, have a Generic Boost application. Then instead of Tier 1, 2, 3 based on how many cards are used...Let us acquire stats with that captain card to increase the boost....i.e. Hit 10 HR vs. L/R with that Activated Card (Whoever you have it assigned to) unlocks Power L/R tier 2. Hit 25...unlock Tier 3. And you could do this for whatever attribute you want, Contact L & R, Power L& R, Speed, Throwing Accuracy...etc. Then you can pick and choose which Stat Boosts you want to apply before a game...Limiting it maybe to 4.
This would encourage more Captain use. Eliminate having to put an 87 guy in your lineup instead of better 90+ guy, and give us the ability to control HOW we wanna play a game.
And then obviously you can come up with the same thing for Pitchers.

I don't see the issue with having to use a lower rated card as a Captain.
Cards don't make people better. If you aren't good at the game, using a 90 compared to an 87 won't male any difference.

@X-FREEZE-OFF-X_PSN I agree, but when you've get 3 99 First Baseman on your team, and you wanna use that captain card, but it's Cecil Fielder that's utter dog poo vs. Lefties. You really gonna play him over Tony Clark?

@X-FREEZE-OFF-X_PSN Why would we be comparing 87’s to 90’s at this point in the game cycle where everything is a 99? Go use the Ozzie Smith 87 and tell me it’s not much different than any of the 99 SS’s we’ve gotten this season. Yes, skill matters more, but no one is using an 87 in their lineup this late in the game cycle. At this point in every other season, we’ve had 95 captains. Those guys were more usable. Where are those captains for season 3? It’s pretty annoying to me that we still haven’t got them this season and they took away our ability to use captains on the bench.

@GixxerRyder750_PSN It’s an interesting idea. They definitely need to find a way to balance captains and make all of them usable. Done right, they could really give us a lot more lineup variety.
