How am I suppose to complete this week's weekly drops...

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL i love #1. Fire them out to the moon!
Everything is awful this year. The cards are uninteresting and recycled. Its like Show 24 should be subtitled ‘the best of box set’ ….or something along those lines because most the cards definitely aren’t the ‘best’ of the past. -

You can't use season 1 Topps Now or season 1 season awards players to complete the season 2 awards it says so under the missions
Yeah I stand corrected on this, terrible design
They should have let old TN/SA cards count for sureYou can use any cards you want for the general missions - as long as they meet the criteria and perform to meet the criteria (2B - SB, LF H, RF - XBH, RP - K, PXP - Phillies).
-
So after being frustrated yesterday thought I'd start new today with a fresh new take on this.
Just turned on the game, I see Season Rewards Missions for K's and XP. Says it MUST BE SEASON 2.
I look at the rewards and..............there is no Season 2 Reward 1-50 until the end Nick Castellanos.
So to complete the misson with Season 2 Rewards K's I am stuck with buying a player off the market? That's it? I just checked the marketplace and the 2 pitchers for season 2 Schmidt and Stram are around 60K each.
So I am forced to buy cards to complete this Season 2 Awards Drop 1 program? Yes?
-
@LuvMyXBOX_XBL no, it can be 100 percent completed without buying a card. Scroll up a few posts and it’s layered out.

No, you are not.
And even if there werent enough options in the track, which there are, there is another drop coming next week.

I did the moments. I used Matt Strahm as my pitcher in a 9 inning game. That takes care of the Phillies pxp/10 Ks with a RP requirements. Loaded a team of LF/RF at their secondary positions
Acuna CF
Soto DH
Oneill 1B
Tatis 3rd
Granderson RF
Ozuna or Alvarez LF
Varsho CThen i had Soriano from the Jeter story path at 2B with a few 2B speed guys that could play multiple positions on the bench for the Steals with a 2B.
Doing that unlocked the first 2 Topps now. Started grinding TA conquest, just unlocked the third TN card and i need 4 HRs to finish the program. No Awards cards required.
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN for clarification, you, much like myself, used Live Series Matt Strahm

Yeah i didnt even realize Strahm had a season awards card lol. I dont bother looking at those because im not buying them. Im using all LS til i unlock TA cards. I didnt even know Strahm had one til i saw someone comment that they spent 45,000 stubs on his card. I was just like "What? His cards like 3800..."
-
I spent 45k for strahm just because I wanted him for my Phillies theme team
-
I bought Strahm at quick sell for 44k then sold him after I completed the missions. sold him back for 59k. nice little profit. I wanted bang the program quickly and I had the stubs..

Wow, this sounds like a lot of fun! When I bought the game this year, I was most interesting in cobbling together a team of corner outfielders playing out of position and using Matt Strahm to pitch a 9-inning game. Really glad to have the opportunity to finally field that dream team. And the best part is the awesome awards that I get for just doing what I wanted to do anyway. Who needs Ruth?
-
@Orcin52_PSN No one is forcing you to complete the program, much like no one forces you to play nine inning games against the Rockies on Rookie. You choose to do that. Just like some people chose to finish a program in the most efficient way possible.

So go play something else. Op asked how he's supposed to do the program, i provided the fastest solution. If you dont wanna do it, idgaf either way. Also, playing a secondary position isnt the same as playing out of position...

This made me laugh

It was on veteran.
I get that people are trying to finish the program, and the solution provided is a good one for that aim. But I think it is fair to point out how poor the game design is this year. The program should have provided a way to obtain the first mission card or two without having to play odd-squad games for only that purpose. As an example, instead of having a mission for HR or XBH by a certain position, have it be a somewhat larger amount of HR or XBH by live cards. This way, people could play the game normally, with a cornerstone captain, while also advancing TA chapter 1.
-
I finished the program by only buying strahm and doing the rest of the missions except for the 5 HRs with Topps Now and 15 XBH with RFs
-
I did the moments then worked on the General Missions as you can use any players, even from S1 and just load up on LF, RF and 2B. Then when I got the first two Topps guys I hit them 1 and 2 in order and played vs CPU and quit out after their at bats to rack up hits and HR.
Then my idea was to do battle royale for the Topps Now PXP since there’s two selectable players Brown and Bader and I was lucky enough to select a 3rd in Bliss too. So it counted towards the Program as well as the BR program.
-
They knew what they were doing with this, they wanted you to buy the cards
-
I had time to waste today and thought for shlitz and giggles I'd try the suggestions to complete this.
Started with moments and go those done quick.
Then I did that new conquest map Fish something and loaded my team up first with Phillies , then with LF, then with RF, etc.... to get the general missions done. I finally get like 2 of the topps now players to work with.
Then as someone here suggested or maybe it was youtube, I did play vs cpu games as the away team at colorado and put my first 2 topps now guys at the top of the line up.
Then played only 2/3 of my 1st inning - if the 2 topps now guys got hits or HRs or if they made outs, I quit out the game and restarted. Again, play at Colorado, bat w/ the first 2 topps now season 2 guys, then quit out. Rinse and repeat. I must have done this like 25-30 times until those 2 guys got the PXP mission , HR mission and hits missions done.
It's freaking ridiculous what I had to go thru to complete this program. It's not even like playing baseball. Its like rigging the game to complete this mission unless you spend 60K each to buy the two season 2 awards pitchers in the marketplace.
Never doing this again.

I am kind of with others on this one. Sure, the quickest way to finish the program is to overload your squad with the needed positions. I have done that myself many times.
I did that last night loaded up the outfield and DH positions with LF and RF for those missions, had multiple 2b in the infield for that mission. brought Strahm in in the second inning to get Phillies PXP and RP strikeouts. I finished some missions and fell short in others.
Then today I just loaded up a normal season 2 squad with a mishmash of my best players. I started one of the Team Affinity Conquest maps. I figured that I would just play those games out as normal and see where I stand when I finish the map. I'll rack up some XBH with my RF. I'll get hits with my LF. Nobody is rushing me to get it done as quickly as possible except myself.
So, while we can debate about the design decisions, we all still have a little responsibility on choices we make and the pressures we put on ourselves to get things done in the quickest and most efficient manner. If you play games with a normal squad you will get hits with your LF, you will get some XBH with your RF. It will just take a little longer.
