How SDS Has Become Disconnected from the MLB The Show Community

.....What?

This franchise is dying everyone can see it. It's about to be All Star weekend and this game has like 500 viewers on Twitch most the time. The game's social media pages are dead outside of people complaining how bad the game is. Overall engagement is down from years past.
Game sucks and is cooked unfortunately, and they have shown they have no interest in listening to the community and fixing things.

You don't really need to look beyond KevinGohD videos to see what is happening.
His last 12 videos in reverse order over the last month have been
Franchise
Return to MLB 21
Return to MLB 23
Return to MLB 21
Franchise
Franchise
DD (showcasing a toxic stadium)
Franchise
Franchise
Franchise
DD (Battle Royale)
DD (ranked)So, other than the Toxic Stadium video, posted on June 6th, he has not posted a MLB 24 DD video since May 16th. That is coming up on 6 weeks.
He has not posted a MLB 24 DD video at all since Season 2 dropped.

I don’t think they are ignoring I just don’t think they are transparent.

Hard to be a “content creator” for a game with no content coming out besides paywalled cards locked behind expansive packs
-
This game is a great metaphor for life and socialist society.
Go ahead and try and go back to the good old days.....stop all the free diamonds and everyone having a 90+ overall team 4 days after release....go back to when you had to grind just to earn a bronze Robin Yount, then grind that card for his silver, grind that for his gold, and then grind that for his diamond.....the masses will scream "Unfair" across the seas...
We the few, we the baseball people, are outnumbered by the selfish and the greedy. While many conplain, many would flip out if they went back to the way it was....the way it should be. The good Ole days when the game was fun and grinding felt good.

It should be clear I absolutely hate the direct Sony/SDS has taken with this game this year but stop saying nonsense like 'paywalled'. Nothing in this game is paywalled. Everything is earnable in game and there is no reason to drop a cent on this game past the initial purchase. Doesnt mean packs arent out of control though. The sad thing is packs arent even the biggest issue with 2024 though, its the lack of content
The question is will 2025 be a correction and a return to content, or will they double down and actually start to teach people what paywalling is.

After years of loyalty and countless hours invested in MLB The Show, it’s with great disappointment that I’ve decided to move on from the franchise. The lack of meaningful communication from San Diego Studios, the disregard for player feedback, and the shift towards aggressive monetization have made the game unrecognizable from what it once was. Despite the community’s passion and dedication, SDS has failed to address our concerns, leaving us frustrated and unheard.
While I may still play All-Star Weekend content and occasionally log in to give the game log watchers something to post about, the passion is gone. It’s time to bid farewell to a game that was once a beloved staple. Thank you for the memories, MLB The Show.

I would never call for anyone's job but whoever the executive producers were this year need to all be shown the door this year
-Marketing
-Game modes/live content
-Graphics
-Sound and Quality Assurance -
- Field plays like concrete
- Hit buttons to make a play, no response or in correct response.
- Throw ball in from outfield and have cutoff man way out of position.
- Ground balls up the middle never get by the pitcher.
- More good contact from late swings than good swings.
- Delay in game speed online and also during regular game modes.
- Throw the ball perfectly as the pitcher and pitch doesn’t not locate where it’s shown on the screen.
- Infielders make plays mid way into the infield constantly to record fly ball outs.
- Infielders/Outfielders super delayed reactions to the ball.
This is just a few of the issues I’ve seen with this game. They call it a simulation and it plays like an arcade style game if you ask me. We are trapped by SDS. If you are a baseball fan and like video games you have 2 choices. Buy this or don’t play a baseball video game. SDS is too busy putting out the same cards in diamond dynasty mode in different form. Whooptie doo.
