Question about Aroldis Chapman overall

I saw Aroldis Chapman was supposed to jump to 83 with the new roster update. But he ended up going down 1 instead? Why say the cards jumping to 83 then bring it down 1 from 78 to 77. I am so confused on this. Was it just his play that made the card go down?

That's Inside Edge. It has nothing to do with updates. It has to do with the current team they're playing that day. If they do good against thst team; they get a boost for thst day.
If they do bad against thst team; they get downgraded for that day.
Changes daily.
