how doesnt edmonds qualify for 2000s team?

Are the hyperlink cards tied to one season? I don't understand how Adrian Beltres hyper series qualifies yet Edmonds card doesn't. I wish they would make using captains easier.

They are tied to a season yes, and Edmonds being 26 on the card would put that card on the 96 season, maybe 97. Definitely not the 2000’s

When they built the captain system they didn't tie attributes to players and instead just made it card specific. So if they release a 99 Ken Griffey Jr. as a Red, he would be ineligible for a Mariners theme team. Probably so they can make sure certain theme teams aren't so good that everyone runs them, but would be a lot more fun if they were more flexible about it
