Why can’t I just quit or restart a franchise game?
-
In Franchise, I have been asking for several iterations of the game now for a “Direct Quit” feature. At present, we only have “Simulate and Exit” and “Save and Exit”. But for a user like myself who likes to use Franchise as a sandbox and create their own stories, I can’t just quit a game if it didn’t go my way or restart it. I have to use a very over-convoluted process just to leave a game and it not overwrite my save.
Now, I know that franchise is tied into XP and Stubs that is used in the competitive Diamond Dynasty mode. So maybe the concern with a direct quit feature would be someone abusing it to gain high amounts of stubs and xp and therefore have unfair advantages over someone else. So the solution could be to keep the “Save and Exit” and “Simulate and Exit” options and have XP and Stubs enabled for those, but also add a “Direct Exit” or “Restart” feature that allows the user to just quit as if the game did not happen but also doesn’t reward any XP or Stubs. I hope this can be added to make franchise better.

@AJ5632 dashboard the game if you want to quit out, it wont save.

@AJ5632 In order for me to restart the game, I have to press the middle PS button, which takes me to the Playstation home screen, from there I close the game and start the MLB The Show 24 game over from scratch.

You can abort a Franchise game at any point by using your controller and directly turning off your console from inside the game. Then, turn your console back on. Highlight over the icon for MLB 24, but don't activate it to start the game. Instead, at least on the X-Box controller, click the hamburger button and select the option from that pop up menu to end the game.
This then forces MLB 24 to start afresh when you activate the game, and it is like that previous game never happened.

“Save and quit”, do new save as to not save over your Franchise, then you’ll get your XP, then just load your franchise again and delete in game save. A little work but you don’t have to restart and you get whatever XP and stubs for your progress in game.

I think if we had a direct quit it would have to nullify whatever XP/stubs we'd get but offline players shouldn't be as concerned by that plus it's fair. I hope they take this into consideration
