This game is unbelievably frustrating. Honestly impossible to enjoy yourself on this [censored].
Foul ball foul ball foul ball… until…oh what do ya know late hit through the infield, early swing drops in the outfield at 80 mph…meanwhile I’m squaring it up lining out to infield and outfield. Does anyone actually enjoy playing this game?? I know baseball is what it is but it feels impossible to get anyone out a lot of times.
I’m usually hovering around 900 so I somewhat know what I’m doing but good lord I can’t play this [censored].
Is something in the water? Did everyone get lasik for this years game? Pitches a hair off the zone and nobody EVER swings at anything. Cudos to everyone in existence for becoming god at this game all of a sudden.
Before all you keyboard warriors say “well then don’t play the game” ya thanks genius I didn’t consider that.
This game used to be fun I have idea what happened
-
@ktm2118 What happened was you're not as good at it as you used to be, and rather than make any adjustments, you blame it on RNG. Also, some people are better at the game than you. And you might lose to them.
-
If you’re hovering at 900 then alot of your games are on Legend difficulty and it can be VERY hard to get consistent hits, Especially with all the low vision cards right now. Whenever I make WS, I become much more reliant on contact swinging as the pci is just too dam small.
-
@ktm2118 I think a part of it is they scared off all the casuals / gamepass players from the game. The players left are more of a top % of hitters than usual at this time.
MLB the Shop 24's packs scared off the low skill player base.

@BJDUBBYAH Getting your SDS hours in I see huh, BJ?
The foul balls are atrocious in this game. Was never this bad in 23 so no, it isn't just related to him all of sudden just not being as good as he used to be. He may not be the best but this game doesn't have a skill gap anymore and the top streamers admit that, stop simping.
Perfect perfects are absolutely trash compared to 22 and 23. That's a fact, so blowing off his questions with "you're not as good as you remember" doesn't land as well through all your gurgling noises.
The man didn't even mention freeze offs, pitcher throw glitches, or any of the other plethora of gameplay issues worth discussing.
There absolutely is a problem with the game from a ranked perspective. Every top player is experiencing loses they should not have due to the gameplay being so forgiving to players who make mistakes. Swinging at curveballs in the dirt should not result in 15 foul offs but strike outs because the unskilled player can't find read the ball.
Zazzi, chev, CJ, etc every one of these high level players will admit to this nonsense occuring far more in 24 than ANY other year.
Please, stop the gurgling. Pull it out of your mouth, breathe, and use your own brain for a second before chocking on SDS in the forums. -

“Casual” or “low skill” players don’t hover in 900’s as OP says they do.

It's bad. I've said it before, but they removed the skill gap in hopes of getting the casuals to spend money on better cards. Too bad they ran them all off by making nearly all content pack drops.
-
Bottomline the game has its flaws, i dont like the slow crawl, i feel if i buy a game i should be able to enjoy the content the way i want too. The nerfed diamond pulls and the lack of ability to really make stubs. The foul ball issue, is worse than it was in 2022, when they admitted it was an issue and fixed it, only for it to be on par or worse 2 years later. The Slider PCI issue, honestly if you know you know. I also feel the exit velo increase is crazy too. I mean i hit a 547 foot homer this morning with Joe freaking Torre. c'mon. I still enjoy the game, but i have set my expectations to what exactly the game is, mediocre.
-
I took a break hoping it would seem better, but I started playing again yesterday and it feels even worse. The foul ball situation is beyond terrible, and momentum/pitcher confidence is about 90% of the game. I applaud those who think gameplay is fine. I truly wish I felt that way.

The games [censored] in my opinion. I also hovered between 800 plus last year. This year I am struggling bad. Getting my [censored] stomped by players I can tell are significantly worse in events and battle royal. Fouls galore then homerun. I’ve been taking screenshots lately of end game states. I’ve lost my [censored] to player that are getting or early late hits in the gap consistently. I’ve even had a game on events I was 9 for 9 all goods and everyone of them resulted in an out. Any outside pitch gets tanked. Defensive errors are a joke. The games [censored]. I doubt I last much longer. Played 21 and up. Year round. This one is really frustrating me and don’t even get me started with the dunk hits up the middle. I’ve seen guys do that consistently the entire game and absolutely murder me while I’m hitting fly outs to the track. I really suck this year. From 800 plus to losing to 400 players. It’s unreal.

And this is just nonsense.
Pulse pitching was massively nerfed (not only do a lot of pitches go well outside the PAR, the PAR is actually a bagel as the pitch never goes to the center of it). Timing also seems to be nerfed (although I cant say for sure as I didnt play on All Star as much last year). If they wanted to reduce the skill gap for casuals they wouldnt have done this.
-
@Teak2112 all pitching is broken except for analog.
-
The online play is the worst it’s been in years and that’s saying alot
-
It’s absolutely terrible. You can lose to guys that just started playing suddenly. If you hit well. Not a good but hit well. 600 plus level if I took a guess ur gonna fly out and ground out. If u can’t play ur going to get dinks up the middle or late or early bloopers. They add up. Or ur gonna foul the ball 20 times then somehow hit a dinger when u couldn’t make good contact all game. It’s costing me in events. Battle royal. It’s all [censored]. I wanna give up on this game but I’m too [censored] hooked regardless of how bad it is.

How many have noticed this: I’m pitching and strike out the first two guys in an inning, then suddenly I can’t throw strikes. Which leads to a walk or bloop or whatever. It’s happened both for me and against me but so many times that it’s obviously a thing. Am I alone on this one?
-
They refuse to update the gameplay

All the time. Certain players are terrible. Soriano for me...got him out once and 95% of his hits are bloop garbage

Unfortunately, this game is not for everyone, it is only for a very exclusive group and the rest of us are embarked to buy it to have frustration, I thought it would be fun.
-
Its atrocious if a perfect perfect from TA Stanton is a 85mph lazy flyout to the outfield.
Explain that to me -
@AdeptOfMemory San Diego sucks. This game is a waste of moeny
