Why do the Season Award Program?

94.72 Meta overall according to a much more reputable source that has done these calculations for a few years.
But keep saying how dumb and stupid other people are OP.

Showzone? I love that site.
In fact, One of the things that I love about it is that I’ll let you compare side-by-side cards from the past five or six years. So… you know what? I did just that.
24’s Season 1 Witt vs. 23’s Season 1 O’Neill Cruz. Both are 95 overall SS’s. Witt on left; Cruz on right.
Con R - 113; 101
Con L - 90; 58
Pwr R - 84; 120
Pwr L - 96; 93
Vis - 65; 58
Disc - 52; 81
Clt - 84; 97Bunt, DrBunt, & Dur were the same on both cards.
Fld - 85; 73
Arm - 81; 99
Acc - 84; 68
Reac - 77; 71Spd - 99; 99
Stl - 99; 50Honestly, it looks like if anything, Witt’s card is better than the typical 95 rated card from this time last year. Showzone tends to agree. It views this card very highly (102.27 to Cruz’s 93.72; similar in meta rankings though).

Completely blows up OP’s ridiculous “calculations” that he claims is “math”
Also, Witt Jr has been mashing for me since using him and that includes 2 ranked games on HOF. Fantastic leadoff hitter

@doobiebross66-72 Does SDS still consider position in its ratings too? I'm only back recently (last played I think in 2019), and I remember 2B having high overalls but being far worse players statistically than most other positions.
It'd be cool if SDS released their formula for overall calculation. Though honestly I don't think the overall matters much.

You do realize those calculations are based on a few specific stats, right? You don't think I don't know about that site?
They factor in the highest hitting stats, combined with the best fielding stats, rhrn also include the speed/stealing, etc. Then they compare them to other true position players to factor in the overall rating.
They used his 113 Con vs R
His 96 Pow vs L,
99 Speed/97 Steal
Even his 90 Con vs L to compare with other cards "overall stats" to come up with their own "Meta rating."They DO NOT factor in the shytty 84 clutch, 65 Vision, low 77 fielding reaction, horrendous 52 disc.
I know how they rate their cards. It's a good source to compare to other positions.
Once again, and I'll try to spell it out so even you can understand.
The overall rating says 95.. The stats do not equal a 95 rated card. If u just factor in his Con and Pow vs Left and Right, that would equal (((95)))
But, clutch replaces the Contact. So replace the Con numbers with 84 when runners are in scoring position. What do u have? (((87)))
That's just clutch.
Now let's do both sides.
Pow Vs Righties with clutch = (((84)))
Pow Vs Lefties with clutch = (((90)))
Now lets add Vision and Clutch with pow vs R= (((78)))
Vision, clutch, + Pow vs L = (((82)))The numbers go down when you factor in Clutch and vision. This is just an example of Witt's overall and situational hitting rating.
If you don't understand these numbers, please refrain from trying to mock me based on information you saw from another site. You clearly have no clue what the numbers represent.
Bobby Witt is not the 3rd best SS.
He's literally the 7th best, and every one of those cards has a lower overall rating than him.
My entire point of this thread was to throw this out there so SDS would stop watering down their free program cards, and ppl would see exactly what they are doing. But apparently, every single one of you are as dumb as SDS thinks you are.
So who's the joke on, really?
You idiots. Lol smh. -
@Shauwn Honestly, is there a significant difference between a 94 and 95? 90 and 95? The overall rating is pretty arbitrary generally or seems to be. I'd love to see the significant difference of the meta data on player ratings to see what the cutoff lines are. The game can't be so finely tuned that a 112 contact and a 113 contact are different enough to matter. It's mostly psychological. It's why stance and swing matter so much.

You idiots. Lol smh.“Another site” is far more reputable than “Shauwn” the crybaby who’s whined incessantly about this game since launch
What you post just simply isn’t accurate as much as you want to insult others who disagree with your garbage calculations
Not wasting any more time on this joke of a thread

We don’t need to read that post again. Whether you follow any other site or not, I literally side-by-side compared a 95 shortstop from last year and this year released at the same time, And it shows that there is no “over inflation“ of a 95 rating for Witt’s card. It seems their rating system is right on to what it was last year.
You don’t have to like the card, or like the fact that it’s a lightning card, but quit making up this bullcrap rating system.

I really hoped even you would understand. But based on this response, it's like trying to explain this to my puppy hoping he'd understand. It's ok bro, enjoy using the top 3 meta ss in the game. Hope u mash with him on HOF and Legend!

@Shauwn I don't think you really hoped for anything but an argument. Once you get my age, it's way easier to just take a deep breath and move on. New cards will come out next week and none of this will matter in 2-3 weeks in all honesty.

The bull [censored] rating system is a called math, created by the Sumerians, which is used extensively even today. You'll be shocked and amazed what math could teach you.
Even now, you don't understand the math behind the ratings/stats, but you do understand what overall numbers represent.
So at least I see some progress. -

An argument or debate is the last thing I wanted to happen. Yet, ppl chose to debate, argue, and mock what is literally in front of their face. I can try to explain it to people, but I can't understand it for them no matter how much I try to.
Anyway, hope u have a good night. -
@Shauwn Until SDS releases their calculation methods, it's all just bluster. Your math seems to make logical sense, but so do the others. SDS's is somewhere else, as I noted in previous years games position was factored into the overall of a player. The best way would be to compare apples to apples two players from this year to last or even this year to this year. Multiple people did that and came up with different solutions. That doesn't mean you both are wrong or even that one of you is right. It's more likely due to the fact that no one has complete information as I'm guessing stats are weighted in certain ways, particularly in stat bands. The math is more complex than calculating its arithmetic average.
From my time in QA, video game math is often far more complex because it gives a larger variance on what makes a certain rating the "same." Otherwise, cards would always have to have all stats higher to get higher ratings. Basing your math entirely on an average would yield cards all being essentially equal at a specific rating, with just different names attached.
-
I think it really just comes down to the fact he thought everyone was going to jump on the “hate everything SDS does no matter what” bad wagon, but when he realized no one would bite, he just doubled down on his nonsense.
-
I love this Bobby Witt card he absolutely rakes for me and I don't find a problem with his defense and I even put him at third base because I have live series Elly there
-
Or learn to hit lol

@Shauwn Buddy just hit em with Sumarian smack!
This is officially the greatest thread ever!

@Shauwn Bro i Iove Bibby Wattt

If my math and calculations are wrong, will someone please explain how baseball Averages, OPS, and Slugging % is calculated? Oh wait, no need. I can do that.
- Batting average is calculated by ((((DIVIDING)))) a player's hits by his total at-bats for a number between zero.
- OPS: To calculate this number for each player, (((DIVIDE))) a player's number of plate appearances by the number of times the player reached base.
- Slugging Percentage: Is calculated by (((DIVIDING))) the total number of bases by the number of at bats. It is represented as a decimal, and is typically rounded to three decimal places. For example, if a player has 42 bases in 100 at bats, their slugging percentage would be 0.420
Before I continue, does ANYPNE disagree with this? I sure as Phuck hope not, for your own sake.
Ok, next fact. Show zone literally used the same calculations as I did on Averaging oit Witt's overall batting and power. Just look for yourself. Actually, I'll show you. Then anyone is welcome to check/verify my numbers, lol.
Hitting Attributes:
CON L: 90
CON R: 113
AVG CON: 101.5
They added both Contacts which equal 203. DIVIDE that number by (((2))) And you get 101.5PWR L: 96
PWR R: 84
AVG PWR: 90
Once again, let's do the same thing. Combining both power numbers = 180. Divide that by 2 and you get 90.Now, adding 101.5 and 90 = 191.5. Divide that number and you get 95.75!
THIS IS HOW THEY DO THEUR RATINGS!
I AGREE THAT BASED ON THESE NUMBERS, HIS CARD IS WITHOUT A DOUBT, A 95 OVERALL RATED CARD!HOWEVER, when I rate a card, I add in the vision and Clutch, and sometimes the disc to determine the overall hitting rating. The math and calculations are done exactly the same way by adding up all the hitting stats and dividing. This is how you fully calculate a player's overall rating. The overall rating is not supppsed to be just his Con and Power added and divided.
This is why I came forward and created this thread.
His 84 clutch lowers those numbers when runners are in scoring position. The low 60's vision also lowers those numbers due to the pci and swing zone being reduced. Then u have his abysmal 50's Disc. Most check swings will be called strikes.SDS could have given Witt better clutch and vision to keep his overall rating from being watered down.
Btw, I created a new account and went into ranked. I faced Witt 10 times without runners in scoring position, and 10 times with runners in scoring position. I literally walked guys just to face him with runners in scoring position, lol.
He is 3 for 10 with 2 doubles without runners in scoring position.
He's 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position by hitting a 3 run bomb guess I deserved that, lol. But he's also only hitting .100.
He's much better without runners in scoring position. This is part of my argument as to why he won't be used much especially on Legend. I literally heard many of the top streamers and seen the top ranked gamers teams. Witt is nowhere to be seen. Most tried him out just for fun. But very few actually use him on their God Squad.
But if his Clutch was at least 95 and vision was at least 75, more ppl would use him on their god squad. My point out of all of this is: SDS PURPOSELY gimped his card by giving him low clutch and vision. It's to control the power creep. They don't want to give out a free S tier HOF-Lefend program card that will be on everyone's team for months.
