Can we just enjoy the game for a week?
-
You’re not wrong, but communication from developers could manage a lot of those complaints. Usually just saying they are evaluating situations is all it would take. That being said, some of the problems this week are making the experience not very enjoyable (xp gains, caps, pitching, etc). Ultimately none of these problems will affect players that grind hours and hours per day as much. It will affect players that don’t have that kind of time. I think some would feel differently if one of the bosses could be earned a little sooner than a million XP. Frankly, I think people wouldn’t complain so much about changes if the game itself didn’t always just look and play pretty much the same. If you put me in a game without seeing start up graphics or programs and asked me what year I was playing, I’d have a hard time telling you and I’ve played many years and spent bunches of money. I’m gonna keep playing, but I’m not gonna play as much if my time isn’t being rewarded.
-
@BRETTSANT05 okay but again, you saw the trailers and previews for the game so why would you expect your version to be different than what was shown?
-
@WindowPeople420 HOPE
-
@go4stros25 Because every game has some sort of bug at launch whether its a $10 game or a $100 game. The game is $70, you chose to get the preorder bonus editions which doesn't impact the actual game. When you add a mass player base, initial issues or balances appear much bigger and more frequent that probably wasn't noticed in testing. They patch bugs and make fixes all the time
-
@MetalDoc17 I agree with that theres some initial problems and bringing up points so the devs can see isn't bad. I too think that things like the time it takes to gain xp, the xp cap, and the amount you need for bosses is a problem but at the same time, its still so early in this games career and this first season still has 80 days to go so they can patch that. I've played The Show since 2016 and was hesitant to buy this years game on the fact alone it didn't look too different from the last couple of games despite some UI changes and graphic changes. I think my biggest point is that people saw what they were getting, it wasn't a blind purchase. If someone purchases or pre-orders without any knowlege, thats on them.
-
Try not being able to play any DD without it closing. Whole Switch community experiencing this issue. For me it has been over 24 hours since I bought this game. So yes, I think I should be able to expect better on the first day.
-
@SUPERFUZZYBUTT Clearly this isn't what I was talking about and the devs have addressed that they're working on the issue. A major game mode completely not working is obviously a problem. Have to assume just a major server issue on the first day as well
-
@SUPERFUZZYBUTT I completely agree with you I also haven't been able to play since I got it yesterday morning and it's very annoying, it's great that they're working on it but this should have been fixed when the people on switch complaining about from early access
-
It's difficult for some to "enjoy" the game when almost every at-bat starts 3-0. That is frustrating, pathetic, and disrespectful to the base that is trying to single-player grind.
SDS needs to tell us something about this. So long as they stay silent, we should keep spamming them with a reminder of how grossly broken -- and dismissive of our time -- CPU pitching is.
-
@SuntLacrimae50 What difficulty are you playing on? I've done the US conquest map, the Spring conquest map, and all the spring breakout moments and showdowns and while I've gotten my fair shair of balls, I haven't had an at bat start out 3-0 like that
-
ALSO!
SDS is actually asking us to keep the feedback coming. We are their beta-testers. Why pay testers/QA when you can have the community do it for you and then pat yourself on the back for being "responsive to community feedback"?
Lol, gross.

Usually rookie or veteran, BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER. Lots of people grind stat missions on rookie or veteran. It's an option in the game. IT SHOULD WORK.
I find it impossible to believe that you haven't had a 3-0 count yet. Literally 3/4 of my at-bats start 3-0. I have DOZENS of screenshots of this.
-
@SuntLacrimae50 I play all of my grind games on All-Star besides the moments and showdowns that are set difficulty. Rookie and Veteran are suppose to be easier which is why I'm guessing you're seeing more balls. Like I said even on All-Star I'm getting a decent amount of balls but nothing consistent where its non-stop 3 count balls and walks
-
Window how much are SDS paying you to stick up for them when there is no excuse for some of these bugs. I can excuse the fact custom hitting camera's are borked , I can live with XP thing since that can be adjusted on the fly. HOWEVER this Strike / Ball issue is something that NEVER should have made it into the launch of the game..... period
If you want to be a SDS kiss BEEP go for it but I am tired of being treated bad and see them say jack BEEP and then take our 100 bucks ( give or take ) for early access to be beta testers and go radio silent to boot. As you can tell I am annoyed but what really ticks me off is SDS kiss BEEPS who will excuse anything.

Respectfully, your guess is wrong.
It has never been like this in past years. This is either a bug or a design decision.
Also, this is not about anything being difficult. I can take walks all day or barrel up the one pitch in 12 that the CPU puts over the plate. It is annoying and not fun.
Lastly, it actually makes less sense for lower difficulty to throw more balls. It should throw more center strikes.
Again, respectfully.

@SuntLacrimae50 I'm pretty sure this window guy is someone from past years on a different account. Remember last year, that one guy who would only troll post?
Remeber all the "what are yall complaining about today" posts? That guy.
Could be wrong.
-
Funny, I haven't seen Hustlin Owl, the guy you're referring to, at all this year. But I don't think he was a DD guy -- purely MLB ranked or whatever that mode is.
-
@blitz77tw They give me 1 LS Diamond for each post I make
-
@go4stros25 Not sure what you're referring too. I posted on the forums back around The Show 19 but havent since then. Not even trolling either, just my overall observation from a player base that has played a game for not even a full week

Are there some bugs that need to be fixed? Absolutely, but what new game doesn't have some bugs at launch.
Calling this a new game is being generous. It's the same game as last season (and the two seasons before this) with a fresh coat of paint. Bugs should mostly be taken care of considering we've been playing the same game for several years now.
