So I preordered the Digital Deluxe PS5 edition

From Game Stop against all reservations, but it’s a digital download they can’t f this up. I didn’t want too but got a gift card from them. Still haven’t received the code. Called them was told it doesn’t come out til the 19th. I explained to them that on their site it clearly states preorder for early access. They literally told me sorry but if you can’t wait you can always cancel your order and preorder with Best Buy or Walmart. Well it’s a gift card so it didn’t cost me anything and I got the Xbox version. Morale of the story F’ game stop

I never preorder early access through a third party. It's bad enough that PS Direct won't deliver the collector's edition until today. There is no reason not to send it earlier so the game can be preloaded and ready to go, but nooooooooooooooooo.
I had a long conversation with best buy about this too. They said everything is automated, so there is no way for them to deliver (or enable pickup) before launch.

You don't have GamePass?
If you have GamePass you can pay the extra $40 for the preorder bonuses and get early release.

When it comes to physical copies I think they can't ship it before street date for legal reasons. But yeah if you order the digital you should've had that email in your inbox at midnight or soon after, at least no later than whenever the company opens for business... that's wack if GameStop did you like that but at least you didn't spend your own money but yeah still sucks... I'd at least like to have the option to play the moment the game releases.
