Changing position/role

Is there any way to change your position or role on your team? I've been with the Yankees for a couple of years now and their pitching sucks, which causes us to lose in the first round of the playoffs each year. I want to switch to being a Shohei type starter (I'm currently a reliever and second baseman, although I primarily play second)

I am not sure if this is yet another glitch, or if the team just wants you at that position. In 21 I was a left handed hitting and throwing first baseman. I got an unusually fast call up from AAA and got instantly installed at second base. No screen with the manager asking if I would be willing to make the change, never mind that because I am a left handed throwing player that I literally cannot turn a double play that's where I spent my rookie year.
Then for the next three years despite the team bringing in a new left handed hitting first baseman that was significantly worse than I was, I still got stuck at second base. The 21 game then reached end of year prep for 22 and I stopped playing as this was getting frustrating to me.
I don't know if you can fix this by talking to your agent during the season, or if you just have to go free agent with another team and demand they change your position.
