Shouldn’t there be an option to retire? In RTTS 22 last year, my agent asked me if I would like to retire around age 38, and I said yes. All these things happened that season, until the end when I had to play another season. This looped until I was 50, when I was forced to.

I don’t want the same thing to happen this year, so is there a way to? If not, shouldn’t they add one for the next game?

    Thanks.

@lgm_landon I am nearing the point where I can retire my current player. I am wanting to make my first catcher, but I think I read online you don't get the option to do so until age 35, but that may have changed. Who knows? it may be yet another glitch in the program.

The one thing I liked about MVP was that you could retire at any point. They would even have a screenshot with a comment about your career after you did it. One time I did it and was having a great career, but needed just a little more and they comment was "darkblue retires while knocking at the door to cooperstown" and sure enough I didn't quite make it.

Another time I created a player but messed some stuff up and finally found my mistakes after about 3 years and quit and got kind of a "this guy won't be missed" screen.

I wish you could just choose to retire at any time, as well as call my agent at any time. What's the point of an agent if I only get to speak with him once or twice a year, with almost no options when he graces me with his presence?

@darkblue1876 My thoughts exactly, especially about the agent. There needs to be an option to speak to him any time you wish, like a “call agent” button. RTTS has pretty much stayed the same in the last 3-4 years, and the things they did change only made it worse.

There are a lot of features that RTTS desperately needs. A call agent anytime button, option to retire anytime, option to change positions, and more bonuses for training. Even just having some more realistic player aspects would help!

It needs to have a makeover for 24.

I’d settle for glamour shots at this point lol

RTTS was much better before they made it the way it is now. The main focus use to be about playing games and reaching goals they set for you during games and period of games. None of this calling people at all existed at the time. No need for the Sims in MLB The Show in my opinion.

@fubar2k7 I liked it back in 19-20 when we had the old beginning part. The games where you set up the character in their bedroom and went to the scouting event were the most fun. They should bring that back, and add even more features.

As overkill as it may seem, I contacted The Show support to inquire about them possible adding more things to improve RTTS 24, like a call agent button, retiring on my own time, making decisions for myself, better training, etc. It’s a long shot, but could be worth it lol

I can confirm it's a glitch. I FINALLY got the chance to retire, go through the season, all the scenes talking about my final days with the team, season ends, and It still would not let me retire. Same old pre season routine. I then rejected every offer and it FORCED me to try out for a team. Done. Just going to start a new RTTS character and move on since it's broken.

@darkblue1876_PSN Does that mean it won’t officially put you into the Hall of Fame?

@fubar2k7 Unfortunately yes. It just cycled through the end of season and into the normal progression. It's ok. I saw how the story ends online, and I didn't miss that much.
