Why is it so hard to copy the likeness of players from specific cards or time frames. Acuna was rocking the low pants for 40/70 change his model. Same thing with Julio a majority of the second half. And this week we will get a ketel marte postseason card with high pants even though he didn't wear high pants once. It's very simple to do.

And to rant on that let's get some authenticity added to styles.

Bo Bichettes above the knees pants
80s mid calf pants like Maddux
The actual hand pad for baserunning instead of the arthritis wrist brace.
    How about tattoos?

It's officially time to make some updates to the same stuff that's been in the game since 2011.

@bri_25 tattoos is to complicated, they'd need to get the tattoo artists rights and that just wouldn't work, but I'd like to see them update the cards for specific arts as well, as well as adding the high pants style past the knee like Bichette or the nickers style pants Tatis wears.

I dislike tattoos, especially on women, but I do like the Van Halen song 😁. I don't know why that is important, when you have to keep your eye on the ball.
When would you like to see them? Post-game in the highlight reel? During walk-up? I don't see why anyone needs that when you hardly see them in real life games!

They probably can’t change to players to have different equipment for each and every other card to match the image.

They don’t do a full body scan either and as @chucky97____PSN said they’re not going to start paying tattoo artist and if they do they’ll probably have to start dropping former players to offset the cost. Pick one. Pay former players or tattoo artists?

@fubar2k7 I can understand the tattoos. But you can edit any equipment item on individual players in the roster so that shouldn't be too hard

I misspoke. I just realized as I sit here the former players wear different stuff on different cards so this should be possible unless it’s contracted they be in what they’re in while the former players can be in whatever the game wants to put them in.

@fubar2k7 what I don't get is your snarky attitude. They aren't full body scanning and they are just copying a player model instead of selecting an easy change to equipment.

@fubar2k7 its still lazy to drop the same model, they can easily edit a cards equipment, its the attention to detail.

You’re correct. I was wrong and I apologize. I tried to take it back but wasn’t fast enough.

You guys are correct. I wasn’t thinking and then I realized Thome had Nike on with his Twins card vs generic with the previous card I used for him. I honestly thought they all were the same due to contracts.

@fubar2k7 no worries. I just enjoy some little details. They just have been really lazy with simple things like that.

I get it. I was annoyed the new Molitor was wearing 19 and Grandal 24. I even posted about it. Seems they’re back to normal now.

Authenticity like the 99s for players who've never played a game in the majors? DD is the wrong place if you are looking to out for Authenticity. See PS Maldonado for the Astros as one of the latest examples of Authenticity.

Seems like a lot of work for something that maybe 5-10 people care about. I guess if you say it’s so easy maybe you could help SDS and do it for them.

@virusts I'll preface this by saying I play the game constantly and being a big fan of baseball it change but...

I'd be down to make sure guys wear the correct numbers and get some equipment upgrades and changes. It's OK for a game to evolve when it's been very similar for so long. Even little things like this make it look like you're putting effort into changing the game. I believe the new consoles will be able to handle this without an issue.

I remember playing a NASCAR game back in the late nineties on pc where you could upload an image and place it on your car. My buddy took my senior photo and put it on the hood of his car and would send me the videos of him going the wrong way on the track and smashing head on into the car with my face on it and we had the best laughs doing stuff like that. Point being that it should be possible to scan the artwork or even do one’s best to replicate it and then upload it to the cloud so those interested could customize the player as much as they wanted and others like me could simply skip over it. I do remember it giving my buddies 386sx16 a fit when it would render but it ran fine once it did and I’m just about soiten that the newest consoles could pull it off. Heck I’d probably download some of the players myself if they got uploaded it’s a nifty idea and something that never would’ve crossed my mind but it sure seems doable
