Arizona has grabbed the lead early tonight…they sure are playing some good ball!

Guess the Dodgers didn’t learn how to keep from getting colder than Antartica during their week off.

I don’t know how Freeman can even walk, let alone run after that foul ball!

I don't buy into that layoff [censored],it's just an excuse.780 on 26 man rosters, only 60 make the ASG, the other 720 have 4 days off and they don't seem to have a problem coming back,a 5th day off isn't that much of a difference, especially since they run simulated games during the workouts.

I agree. Didn't one of the teams let fans in for free to watch their simulated games? I thought that was cool when I heard it.

Diamondbacks have a 2-0 series lead on the Dodgers.

Me lol, this is my darkhorse team. Will see if they can close this series out but weird fact, in years when the Diamondbacks aces hit birds they have yet to lose a playoff series.

How many have hit birds besides RJ?

Zack Gallen hit a bird this year, that would make 2.

This is from 2019. From 2012 through 2018 the team with more rest was 1-6 in the World Series. The only winner was Boston. Maybe you didn’t play baseball?

I dont think anyone is gonna buy a subscription to read that. But appears to be just WS teams. That is just chance. Rest is good. Especially for pitchers arms.

I didn’t pay for it either. It was either free when I read it in 2019 or free for me on my iPhone. Funny you mention that because it points out pitching stats being worse and shows how much worse they are with extended breaks.
As for if being the World Series. That isn’t the only series discussed in there. That’s the one with the largest break. The new format doesn’t have enough data.

I still say they should add another division to each league (sayyyyy South) and two teams to each league. Rearrange the teams geographically to the divisions and eliminate the wild card. Playoffs begin with best record vs worst record for winners of the divisions in their league, then the league championship, then the World Series. No layoffs, no fuss, no muss. I can’t imagine how rest doesn’t help the players, but if it doesn’t, it doesn’t.
I know I have a spreadsheet around somewhere outlining this…

I also have one. I even made tweaks to the schedule which they already made having everyone play everyone. I sent it into the Commissioner’s office. My team placeholder cities are Las Vegas and Nashville for the additional teams.

The chart has been moved to page 8 for quicker reference.

I listened to the Braves Phillies last night and it was such an exciting ending but only just now did I get to actually lay eyes on that game ending double play and I gotta say that was one of the awesomest plays that I can remember seeing in quite a long time! Did y’all see it? If anyone missed it you gotta look it up online because NO ONE should miss seeing this play in those circumstances with that result….it was simply an awesome clutch catch by Harris and then an incredible heads up play by Riley…the games hero unquestionably! Heck I’m even pulling for the Phillies (to my shame) but that was wicked
-
It's not just about Rest though for the Bye teams...it's the momentum and still being in the zone for the teams that win the wild card round. Baseball's a game of Rhythm, slightest upset of that rhythm can be detrimental to a team...Braves were Flat game one. And the Phill's knew it...sending flamethrower after flamethrower up there. Game 2 they got some rhythm back...gonna be a heck of a series.

Correa was on fire. It was interesting watching him give advice on how to pitch the Astros. After offering up his knowledge and the batter would K, the camera would show Correa do a fist pump. He had a few great plays from SS that game.

I never looked at it from the momentum POV. It makes total sense!
