Question about the fielder icons and fielding attribute

I have the 99 Brock (The Franchise) at P4; his fielding is 87. The defense icon on his card is a diamond. Shouldn't the fielding icon be diamond too (instead of gold)?
His base fielding is 83, and his base defense icon is a diamond (I don't know if that ever changes, does it?).
What other attributes give him a diamond defense icon if his fielding is still gold at P4?

On the card its an average of all 4, in game it is just fielding.
