That SDS and the powers that be only care about how many stubs you buy not the cards you can earn you’ll enjoy the game a lot more. Take it for what it is. It’s pay for 99. Sure there is a Nolan Ryan card that is unlocked through a collection but I had a better Nolan ryan in set 2. Also the 2 99 trouts aren’t earned, you had to get one from set 1 in a pack you had to buy and get the rare round or now it’s in a chase pack that you have to buy again to have a chance or buy 800k stubs. Congrats SDS!

You might be right but Im not even sure I'd call this pay to win. At this point in the game cycle lots of people have millions of stubs. Id be happy to use stubs to buy all the TA cards to get Mookie and Foxx and Kluber quicker. To me it feels like maybe this year they were trying to cater a bit more to the offline grinders at the expense of people who like to play primarily online. Id love to get Mookie and all the collection cards but I dont feel like going through all the offline stuff again.

I don't agree with this at all. Not sure who they were trying to cater to, but it isn't the offline grinders. As an offline grinder, I have no desire at all to grind for these 97 TA4 and 97 Season 4 players. No one wants to put in the amount of time it takes to finish TA for players that won't even start on your team, including the 99's in the collection. If this was their attempt to cater to offline grinders, they missed the mark by a huge margin.

Not only this, but if you strictly grind offline (which I do), you can’t complete any of the big Set collections unless you flip.

I had to buy at least 20-30 cards for Core, Set 1 and Set 2. As we start Set 4, I estimate I’ll need to buy about 20 or so cards to finish Set 3.

A complete and total fail, IMO. The grind is way too long offline not to be able to finish big collections.

I completely agree with @Whiplash831_MLBTS and @capardo_XBL. As an offline player myself, they are definitely not catering to us. We aren't able to finish any of the collections without buying cards. The only good thing is that we can complete 95% of our goals without being restricted by the sets rule.

So the question is: Who are they pandering to? If both the offline and online players feel they are being slighted, then who is benefiting?

Follow the stubs. SDS has to make money to stay in business, which is at the expense of those who want to play the game. So, @LIONED-33_XBL is right. The only way not to be aggravated is to accept what we can do and play the game. If that isn't possible, then it's best to move on - like a lot of players have said they are doing. That is the only way PS and SDS will get the message. Once they see their sales drop (both game and stubs), they will have to make the decision to either change the model to compromise what the fans want or quit making the game because it isn't profitable enough (think SOCOMM).
