When I attempt to steal and it’s clear as day a pitch out I try to tap R1 to go back to first base and my runner literally beats the pitch out and toss but R1 then kicks in a foot away from 2nd base and now iM In A pICKle!!

Good, you shouldn’t be allowed to cancel a steal attempt and get back to the bag easily just because there’s a pitchout.
Pitchouts were absolutely useless in 18 for that very reason.

Yup...it's by design OP, not just you. Also a very good thing that SDS did this. I didn't play 18 but I remember 17 people would spam R1 and make pitchouts useless. Wasn't fair at all.

They purposefully made getting back to a base longer and slower this year then in other years I've played the game. It's a good move on SDS' part
